OK, maybe I'm just dense, but can anyone point me to a How-To that shows or explains the step-by-step process?
I didn't see one anywhere on the downloads page for the slipstreamer...is it a help file thats installed with the app?
What do I download before running the slipstreamer? WMP11, Hotfixes, nLite? Does the slipstreamer only work with nLite? (no, I have not yet used nLite either, but there is good documentation for it)
I'm really at a loss of where to even start the process.

first u download slipstreamer
then download hotfixes that are on slipstreamer's page and wmp11 installer from microsoft.
after this u copy the os source to your hard drive.
start slipstreamer and u have to insert wmp 11 installer, os source and hotfixes. then press start and wait for the slipstreamer to finish.
also slipstreamer can work with nlite. u can find more info in this post:

I had used 0.0.9.1 to slipstream WMP11 and the hotfixes on your page to perfection however i upgraded 0.0.9.4 and used it to slipstream wmp11 and the fixes into source and when windows booted up as it was customizing settings it came to wmp11 and it stated that a reboot was required for settings to take effect and it had me select yes or no. This is not a huge deal but this prompt is not what i want in my xp unattended.
using xp sp2 with hotfixes reintegrated with nlite.

I'm having the same issue only I just used nLite 1.4 final to integrate tweaked version.

The only thing I changed is I didn't include the DirectX Nov. Update addon.

Yea, I'm not sure what the November DirectX update had to do with customizing settings for wmp11, but that's when it stated that a reboot was required for wmp11 settings to take effect and it had me select yes or no to restart. Oh well, it's no longer a problem.

Problem with WinNT32 installation
Hi Boooggy,
Thanks for all the good work integrating WMP11. I found something strange; maybe you can have a look.
I started from a clean WinXP Pro, integrate SP2 with the MS method, and also integrate RAID drivers with the MS method ($OEM$ etc)
After that I integrated WMP11 vanilla with your 0.95 integrator and all hotfixes applied.
I installed the integrated WinXP with the WinNT32.exe method (from one partition to another); when it comes to component registration I get a message that ICFGNT.dll cannot be registered (because it is not found).
After that the completed windows is largely disfunctional.
ICFGNT.dll is not normally present in a clean install. The only reference to ICFGNT.dll is in I386\WIN9XUPg\MIGDB.inf. A similar problem is also discussed
here. It looks like some upgrade installation is attempted.
EDIT: After I integrate IE7 with nLite 1.4 the IFCGNT.dll problem is gone.
Well you might say you do not support WinNT32 installations, but I got it going for pretty complex installations, and also your previous add-ons. I found that the WinNT32.exe method is generally a little more picky than CD installations. Maybe it gives a clue for some problem.
Thanks for looking,

Boooggy,
Sorry I just picked the wrong installer file (WindowsServer2003.WindowsXP-KB930627-x64-ENU.exe) file

.
I would certainly help if the integrator would detect such stupid moves, but for that you would need some positive identification of the real installers.
Thanks for help anyway, I will keep looking into the other problem.

Problem with "Play All" feature in WinXPx64
I did a CD installation for WinXP x64, integrated withg v0.95 and all hotfixes.
I observed a problem that I also had with the x64 add-on (now pulled):
For a music folder it is possible to select "Play All" in the left panel of an explorer window. This starts WMP11 that plays all files sequentially (you can skip forward and backward).
However this does not work in the above integrated install. WMP11 opens just one file from the list (looks like the oldest file).
This problem is gone after I overinstall with the official installer (no mistakes this time

).
I do not see this problem in x86 installations.
This looks like some registration error to me but actually have no clue.
Boooggy, I hope you can figure it out; I will test immediately.

changelog in 0.96
1. Added more checks to block slipstream if selected installer doesn't match the source (by parsing control.xml). This was the reason of some "File not found" errors when extracting the installer.
2. Fixed an issue where .NET GC wasn't executing SafeHandles' destructors fast enough leading to a temporary file handle leak causing "File in use" errors.
3. Added a check for hotfix existence

Boooggy:
It looks on your web site in the "Requirements:" section,
you have recently added 2 hotfixes:
windowsmedia11-kb942264-x86-intl.exe
and
windowsmedia11-kb944110-x86-intl.exe,
and that you recently removed one hotfix:
windowsmedia11-kb941282-x86-intl.exe
Is that right? Is the windowsmedia11-kb941282-x86-intl.exe still supposed to be part of the integration now or not?
Your program has been working very well for me! Thank you for it!

941282 was superseeded by 942264. so 941282 its not needed.
i keep the hotfix list as clean as possible, everytime when a hotfix is superseeded that specific hotfix is removed and the new one is added.
for people that want to use all fixes please go to xables's share and download all from there and then slipstream. wmp11 slipstreamer will work with all of them no matter what, choosing the right files to add on the cd.

Hi
I tried this on fresh xp pro oem. Selected vanilla and all the wmp hotfixes. Everything went fine. Then used nlite and xables nov update pack. No error messages. After installing, the only problem is, in wmp, the "recently played files" is always empty.
After that tried slipstream without any hotfixes.
Then used nlite to integrate wmp hotfixes.
Still the "recently played files" in wmp is empty.
Any solutions?
Thanks

Question about Wmp.inf line
Hi Boogy,
I looked into the Wmp.inf as modified by your slipstreamer. It has the following two lines:
CODE
HKCU,"Software\Classes\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences","AcceptedPrivacyStatement",0x00010001,0
HKCU, "Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences", "AcceptedPrivacyStatement",0x00010001,0
I removed the first one (with Software\Classes\Software) and that had no effect on the results.
-I think it can be removed, not urgent, but maybe for the next revision

the folder name says SP1 because it's the label of the CD that it was copied from, but the content of the folder were updated to SP2...
here is what I remember I did:
-copied Italian xp sp1 cd to hard disk
-slipstreamed SP2 and hotfixes listed above (using nlite 1.4.1)
-tried to slipstream WMP11 to the updated xp folder and got the error message.
unfortunately I don't have any more info because I made a new nlited CD without WMP11 and formatted the computer

but I can try to reproduce the error if necessary

1st time using your integrator and I ran into a problem. In the past just used your wmp11 addon within nLite. I have winxp pro sp2 with updates. Ran nLite 1.4.1.0 1st (been using 2+yrs.) and then I started WMP11Slipstreamer v0.96. If this is successfull then I was planning on integrating driverpacks.net MassStorage or others if room to fit on a CD-RW.
Here is the bug report:
---------------------
WMP11Slipstreamer v0.96
