Hi,

I ran into the following problem while trying to remove IE in Windows 2000. I have attached a zip file containing the hfslip log file and the txtsetup.sif file which caused the error.

Problem that appeared during setup:

"The following value in the .SIF file used by Setup is corrupted or missing:

Value 0 on the line in section [SourceDisksFiles] with key "ntkrpamp.exe".

Setup cannot continue."

Can anyone help?

Did you select Y to filter FDV's setup files when you ran HFSLIP? Did you do a CD installation? How fast did you do your burn? It sounds to me like you got a bad cd burn, you should burn slower.

Side note, you should check up on your HF directory, you have IE6 updates in there (they aren't needed). You should refer to Tomcat76's list of files required.

Yes, I did select Y to enable the FDV filter.

Also I checked the contents of the CD - it is exactly the same as that of the SOURCESS folder.

Further, there are no IE6 updates in the HF directory. I made sure that those are deleted. I had them earlier.

I have a feeling that something went wrong in the txtsetup.SIF, which I have included in the ZIP file. Does it have anything to do with what I have specified in my WINNT.SIF?

You probably want to check your HF folder again, you have IE6.0sp1-KB905495-Windows2000-x86-ENU.exe and scripten.exe in there which are ie6 specific. You should only slipstream files meant for your OS. Tomcat has a dynamic list of all updates required for your run.

How fast are you burning your CD? If you have bad media, you'll be missing files. In fact, just last week I had a bad burn which had the missing file errors. Once I reburned the sourcess folder, all was OK.

The line that copies ntkrpamp.exe isn't present in that TXTSETUP.SIF file. It's like FDV either stripped out multi-CPU/core support, or he used an old TXTSETUP.SIF as a base. You can add this at the bottom of the TXTSETUP.SIF file in your SOURCESS folder but I doubt there isn't more to it:

ntkrpamp.exe = 2,,,,,,,,3,3
