Hello welcome.gif

Simple question......Does the windows 98se service pack, help to fix blue screen errors (fatal exceptions)??

If not what does??

Thanks Phil.

A well maintained system.

Having good drivers for everything. It was bad drivers from back in the day that often triggered a blue screen, since they run at the same level as the kernel.

not only good device drivers but also reliable hardware. faulty or bad hardware (defective hard drive, cpu or RAM) can also cause BSODs

so, philly, it will take MORE than just the 98se SP to fix blue screen errors. the 98se service pack alone will NOT get rid of the blue screen problems completely. you MUST understand that!!

and what eidenk meant by "well maintained system" is you install the latest drivers for all your devices, run scandisk and defrag to fix HD errors and optimize performance, upgrade your RAM if your computer doesnt have enough RAM to run large programs, replace bad or faulty hardware and (of course) install the 98se service pack.
