Google Internet Forums Unattended CD/DVD Guide
gosh
I have a lot of experience making custom cd's, windows PE, and unattended installs.. If there's enough interest i can post guides on making custom unattended cd's.

One cd i've made has xp home, xp pro, win2k pro, win2k server, win2k adv server all on one 700 meg cd, all unattended.

Another cd i've made has xp home sp1, xp pro sp1, and winpe on a 700 meg cd. The nice thing about this cd is you can install XP home or pro unattended or regular (you type in the serial and everything).

I haven't seen anything on this site on winpe. Winpe is the future, which is obvious now that longhorn uses it to install.

I also have a lot of $OEM$ tweaks that i haven't seen anyone post. I could post some of my tweaks.

Is there interest in any of these topics? If so let me know. I have a ton of stuff. Also let me know what topics you guys would be interested in.

I have a quest for you... Figure out how to push variables from the CIW in RIS to GUI mode (or to the registry or anywhere else it can be extracted from later). smile.gif That's what I want to know. You know if this is possible?

I do a Multiboot cd (for my business) with W2K prof, Advansed & Server on one CD with DX90b, MP9, SP4, IE6SP1 usw.

At home I try to make a Win98SE, WXPro, WXpro SP1, WXPro SP1 & Software, but it not really work. unsure.gif

Very interested thumbup.gif .

There's so much useful information and guidance offered here, but finding it is sometimes difficult unsure.gif . Especially if you get the terminology wrong or if you're just slightly off track... rolleyes.gif

There's nothing more frustrating than fighting with a particular install, to find you're barking up the wrong tree, and a simple restated search would have put you back on the right track immediately. whistling.gif

Hey Gosh, this would be a great idea! Can't wait to see it happen. If you need some web space for the pictures I could help (if you are going to use pics).

Hey Gosh, please show up here. Do you enjoy when you throw the bait? tongue.gif

I am almost finished with my cool unattended multiboot cd, thanks to your (and others') participation. I also did your source reduction trick, but now my next exciting step is to make all work with a WINPE install.

How could you put WinPE+XPPRO+XPHome on a single CD maaaan?

Q2: Does the WinPE based install like the reduced source fileset? (or I have to make the whole slipping stuff from scratch?)
Q3: Does WinPE-based install process everything what is processed otherwise? (cmdlines.txt,$oem$,application installs...)

BTW reading the threads I saw a lot of ridiculous and childish fights between you and others, if you need my opinion, i think first of all they should not react in a negative way. If you know something and write it with confidence, some people are likely to perceive it as an ego-question rather than helpful info...
Isnt it childish to have an argument about inf files for example? if you did that face2face in life, it would be really funny biggrin.gif (i can imagine Gosh and Greenmachine in front of a computer yelling at each other about windows setup hahahhahehohu)
