Using VideoLAN player (http://www.videolan.org) on win98SE, equipped with updates including ME ones, I can play .flv files but cannot navigate in them. If you click on a later or earlier part of a .flv movie it resets back to the beginning.

Don't have this problem on XP with the identical software.

Wondering if anyone else can reproduce this problem and provide a solution. It doesn't matter for short video clips but for long videos it's annoying and awkward.

Not exactly a solution, but i use ffdshow and media player classic for flv playback. Works like a charm.

Tried again....and....Thanks a lot! Great solution. Just needed a fair bit of configuration for the codecs, - found a helpful (essential) online guide. Give a shout if anyone wants it posted. There's no lip sync problems and flash videos are easily navigated. Many thanks.
