Hello,

have modded the Nvidia Driver Packages 81.85, 82.69 and 93.71

.

These Driver supports Geforce 6/7 and 8 series AGP/PCI-Express devices for Windows98SE/ME.

Hope the drivers will work fine for all.
For addional information read the Readme.txt.

I downloaded the RAR file and unbundled it but it does not seem to contain an installer EXE file.

Sorry,

have not added an installer yet!

Unrar the Rar file.

Go to System Properties and update the driver manual.

Did what you suggested. I hadn't known you could do that. It seems to have installed although it did ask for the location of some INF file (I didn't make a note of the name) which wasn't anywhere to be found so I had to 'skip' it.

mmh ..

the *.inf file ist named NVAML.INF and must be in the extracted folder of the archive.

The rar archive contains the .inf-file .. have checked this!

This Driver Package supports only the PCI-Express cards.
Im still working on the next version, who contains AGP Cards too.

Think it will be able in a few minutes for downloading.

Also i found a failure in the frequency table, this will be fixed now!

Don´t have said that AGP cards can not be installed, but only I do not know whether these function.
I´m still working at the Driver Package.

I need to unpack the installation files of NVIDIA newer Driver packages. But there are keys in the
cab files ..

Anyone have an idea?

Get them from guru3d.com most of the drivers from there have been extracted and repacked by them to save overall size.

This is based on recently released 82.69 right? So does it support widescreen resolutions too (1400x900 for example) ?

mmh i think yes, the resolutions points are set in the inf files .. think you meen resolution like 1280x720 or higher.

They will work!

Actually, I just checked the .inf file and wide screen resolutions don't seem to be supported (at least not the one I'm interested in) !

For exemple, to support 1440x900 (native resolution for 19 inches widescreens), the following lines are missing:

It's an AGP card.

I think the most interesant goal will be the agp Gf7x support.

Because the Gf6x are yet supported on the nvidia drivers (I have one) and the PCi-e...there's no pci-e motherboards with support for w98.

Modded NVAGP.INF = added support for *all* :
- GeForce, GeForce Go + Quadro 5xxx, 6xxx, 7xxx + 8xxx series.
- GeForce + Quadro PCI, AGP + PCI-x series.
- GeForce 7950 SLI PCI-x series.
- Vertical refresh frequencies + all normal and widescreen resolutions for video driver + CRT/LCD monitors.
- Languages DLL + HLP files from NVIDIA Display Driver 93.71.
- Registry tweaks to allow access to hidden/undocumented options.

FYI:
PCI-x may or may not work, depending on motherboard, chipset, GPU.

Some of the registry tweaks in your INF are broken, for example some dword values were written into the registry as plain string [REG_SZ] values, and others had wrong dword values.
I've corrected them all, and added a few more.
Please look at the NVAGP.INF file inside NV8269.EXE [built with Iexpress].
To extract all files without installing anything, just run [using C:\TEMP in this example]:

NV8269 /C /Q /T:C:\TEMP

Downloaded this GF678_98Me Driver

testet with my new XFX GeForce 7950 GT
chip G71 board Id 02E4 no go :-(

added the line :

%NVIDIA&DEV_02E4.DeviceDesc% = NV4_NV3x, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_02E4

and:

NVIDIA&DEV_02E4.DeviceDesc="NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GT"

in the nvagp.inf. The Diver installs the Card, but hangs after init VGA
(Info in Registry)

The Card ist listet in in the nvidia 162.18 for XP

nv4_disp.inf:

%NVIDIA_BR02.DEV_02E4.1% = nv4_NV3x, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_02E4

and

NVIDIA_BR02.DEV_02E4.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GT"

is there a Way to modify this Driver ???

I also testet the mod nv8269 .... no go :-(

You can't do it. 82.69 already supported Windows 98, he just modified it to expand the card support. 175.19 doesn't support Windows 98

9 series? I highly doubt that. I think 8 series is the lastest. But nobody has confirm that the 8 series work. I said i wasn't going to buy anymore PCI cards, but i may still do that and see just does a 8 series card work for it. There is only one driver that supports the 8 series tho and that is the 82.69 and i highly doubt that it works perfectly for videos and gaming, i think some sort of problem may arose.

I am not buying any pci cards anymore tho, unless i come across those Albatron cards, which i will buy just for testing.
