For a video enthusiant and or photographer or graphic designer or architect or...... 8Gigs is awesome! I still think 8 GBs is a waste regardless of what the user does on his home PC. i do too, when in the world will you ever need 8GB worth of apps open? Its just a waste of money I'll hold you to that one! |

The most expensive would be the supercomputers, but regarding PC-architecture computers... Their "4.2GHz" CPU is just a 3.6 that's been overclocked; I have a P4 HT that's running at 4.17, so 4.2GHz isn't impossible. Their solid-state hard drives are commonly encountered on high-performance servers. Their systems are simply overclocked regular machines with hardware RAM disks and other minor enhancements. It still doesn't justify the price though. |

It's only 1GB per processor! Did you know 512MB on 32 bits systems lets you store as much data as 768MB on 64 bits systems ? In fact, you should take 16GB. |

Perhaps you have no use for 8GB on your desktop PC, but I could use that no problem (VMWare Server + several OS'es running heavy-ish processes and virtual appliances, databases, you name it). I couldn't live with just 512, my PC with the least RAM has 1.5GB (and I wish it had 4) |
