If you use regshot 2.0 to capture the registry entries, you can easily turn this into a portable application, so you can carry it on a usb flash drive. after you're done using it, just run the undo reg file and it'll get rid of all the reg entries. only problem is you'll have to edit the drive assignment of the flash drive since it will be different for different computers. i tried using a expandable variable %Nero% to point to the files (to avoid having to edit the reg file), but it errors out on advrcntl.dll. Looks like expandable variables don't work at some parts of the registry. ________________________ Nevermind, it doesn't work on a computer where Nero where never installed. Back to the drawing board. This post has been edited by spacesurfer: Aug 15 2008, 07:44 AM |

Back to the drawing board. I worked on a portable version of v7.x and it did work, but you needed to register some dll files. Which can be unregistered via scripts as well. Look for the files that Acheron installer registers and do it yourself, maybe it works and we can have a real portable nero. I don't have the time to work on it right now, but will gladly join you when i can. |

It seems like the download links on UpdatePack.nl are broken. Any mirrors anywhere? Thanks |

Hmm, no problems here downloading from iFile - what's the problem you have? Just click once on the ad above the ticket button, back, and ready to go.

@Acheron Script is perfect, everything is working fine, just a few small details to Your attention: 1. Disk image or saved project - window "Open" opens CENTERED, not default for nero, can this be fixed? In all toher instances nero opens window "Open" left-alligned. 2. Nero cover designer-file-open does not show hidden folders though nero in general always shows hidden folders. Can this be fixed as well? Apart from that latest Nero version is very fluent and stable in work... Thank You in advance, All the best, Alex |

But you may just use that version, too, till the english-only file is reuploaded.

I was wondering, when it comes to the basic burning software, what's the difference between Nero 7 and 8?

My fault too since I didn't even consider that the european version might have English in it as well, and also my assumption that you would use English. I was wondering, when it comes to the basic burning software, what's the difference between Nero 7 and 8? I would guess HDDVD and Blu-Ray support, or better support if v7 already had that. I have uploaded some new test builds to my site. Under the hood there are some big code changes, so I want these changes to be tested before any new Nero release. Have fun This post has been edited by Acheron: Aug 28 2008, 11:50 AM |
