  1. I've been searching google for a bit but I am having trouble finding what I'm looking for. So does anyone know where to get a Windows XP/Vista/7 web template? I'd really like to make my site look like a vista desktop. Start bar and all. I've seen it done with XP before but I can't find that again. Any help? Thanks!
  2. Here's a question of worth. I would like to know which one of these systems is worth more, money-wise? They will both have the same exact Hard Drive, DVDRW Drive and RAM. I know they are old and I have a lot of old stuff that I'm putting together and selling to friends for cheap. However these two computers are going into a couple of contests and I need to decide which one should go into the bigger contest. The more valueable one will be donated to that contest. 3. Doesn't work. Game minimizes when fullscreened or freezes while in window mode and video freezes with sound continuing.
  4. Okay thanks. I got a new video card for my other computer, its PCI-EX, in order to do this. Now my question is why do things like games and video minimize when I do something on the other screen? I want to have a game open and running or a video playing and still be able to chat, browse or whatever on the other monitor. Any suggestions as to what to do? I've got them setup as two separate displays.
  5. I have on-board video that I use now but I have an AGP video card that's just sitting on my desk as well as another monitor. Could I install the card and have two working screens side by side? The on-board graphics is nVidia I think and the card is ati radeon 7500 if that matters at all.
  6. Would you please provide a link to background? My little brother would love it! Thanks. http://www.deviantart.com/view/30394952/ Much appreciated!

  8. Well I reformatted and reinstalled my WinXP (older version with no SP-anything, lol). For some reason Windows Update site won't do anything except freeze IE everytime its accessed. I've downloaded the .exe's of SP1 and SP2 and both of those hang forever on the 'inspecting your current configuration' part which is the beginning. I need to get fully updated again and I don't know how to work this out. Please help! Thanks, PUBD
  9. Thanks Jeremy. That'll work well for me. What I found was this site http://windowsupdate.62nds.com/ and it seemed pretty good but I'll go with AutoPatcher.
  10. I don't have IE on my system and don't want to install it so is there a plug-in or something that will allow me to use windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ using Opera 9? I was a firefox user and had the plug-in which allowed me to do what I'm asking but I'm new to Opera.
  11. Yes currently running with second of sticks. All are corsair but two are better and those are what I'm trying now. If install completes with one set of sticks could the others possibly be swapped into a working system? Edit 2: Okay it copied all the files with no problems and is looking good through the GUI setup. Thanks! I'm still going to try swapping the sticks out after its all complete and I'll post those results as soon as I can.
  12. Thanks ripken. I was running the install once more and now I am swapping the ram sticks out for two more then I'll try the one at a time thing because who knows maybe one is faulty. All four of them are from the previous system lol and did work but I'll try that for right now. I am only using two sticks 512mb PC3200 DDR.
  13. Just purchased new mobo and cpu and am trying to get WinXP Home to install but it will not. I get a blue screen each time I try. I either get a blue screen after I hit F8 at the EULA or during the file copying or finally during the file copying part a file won't copy and when I hit enter to retry, blue screen. Its a different file each time usually and the furthest I've made is to the luna.mst or in the 42-45% area. I've tried disabling USB and SATA functions in BIOS and neither helped. I'm not going to be installing any SATA drives if that helps. CPU - Intel Pentium D 805 Mobo - ASUS P5RD1-VM I remember having some problem like this before on aother system and I just kept redoing the install and it finally took and completed but I've already tried over 20x this time around. Any suggestions at all? Most recent BSOD; Technical information: *** STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x8082B5E5, 0xF719D6D4, 0x00000000)
  14. This is my friends truck and I would like some help or instruction on how to create a .gif with the rims spinning. Please, the quicker the better...his bday is on Monday but it doesn't have to be done by then. Any help will be appreciated though. Thanks! Well I decided to poke at this for awhile and this is what I've created so far... There's a little glitch on both front and rear but that's just my unsteady hand while using the eraser, lol! Not bad for first stab, no? Still accepting tips to perfect this.
  15. I've done what has always worked for me with this fresh install of XP Home but no I cannot get sound. This particular system is just using the monitor speakers and onboard sound channels. I got the AC '97 codec from the Windows Update. What else should there be or should I do to get the sound working again?
