  1. Windows 7 Classic Start Menu.... is here.

Same here, I know I will not downgrade to Windows 7 if the classic start menu is not there. I hate how microsoft changes everything around just to make it harder for the end user. Windows 7 is by far the easiest operating system to learn they have ever come out with. I have been showing it to some of my older customers and they just "get it"...when they couldn't with Windows XP. The things people here are calling "eye candy" are far more than that. Sometimes you just have to pull your head outta your a** to see that not everything Microsoft does is bad. In this case it is, I mean why remove something so simple? I have a couple windows 2008 servers and that OS even has the classic option.

  3. WINNT.SIF and leaving automatic updates off

Thanks, it sounds more a pain for something that small. Other than that my install works great with all updates except the .NET packages which I just threw the install files on the CD with XP and it works fine unless there is a way to integrate .NET into a Windows installation but I don't think that's very easy if it's posible yet.
  4. Okay after hours of reading I almost have my perfect installation. There is one part that is driving me crazy and that's having automatic updates turned off by default. I know it's not to big of a deal but if anyone can answer this for me that would be great. Also I have read alot on havingt it skip the screen to setup the settings for the windows security center. Also is there a way to add a default user that way once I install windows it will automatically logon without having to go through any steps? BTW, I am using XP Pro Corp with SP2. Attached is my WINNT.SIF file. Thanks WINNT.SIF.txt
  5. HFSLIP, The 2K/XP/2K3 slipstreamer

First off I want to thank you for this great tool. I did my first slipstream with HFSLIP and windows xp. After installing it I noticed 2 things. If I go into the Windows security center, the automatic update option does not show up where it normally does. The second this I seen was it put an HFSLIP in the add/remove programs. I clicked change and it just removed it. Is there a way to make this install look like a factory type install without HFSLIP being in the install?
