  1. Hi All I have a SBS Standard box working well enough except I have created a public folder but no email is arriving into the mailbox externally. The email address in question was once configured as an internal Distribution Group in which email from external sources would be sent to everyone in the office to read. However this didn't allow everyone to see when email was read/unread, replied etc. So I removed the exchange email address for the distribution list and created a public folder with the same email address. For some reason I can't get emails coming into the required Public Folder. The folder is listed in Outlook though. I created a different public folder with a different email for testing purposes and the email arrived. Can anyone suggest anything to check ? I've confirmed the primary smtp is correct. Regards Robbie
  2. Hi All I have a Vista notebook that has suffered a software crash and unfortunately wont boot up normally even after trying it’s own various built in repair features. Before I go and perform a full recovery, I need to extract documents and email from the \Username\Appdata\Local - sub folders which are actually called Vista “Junction folders”. I’ve connected the hard drive to another PC as a secondary drive, but I’m unable to browse into the required junction folders as I’m prompted with an access denied error even though I’ve changed the security tab and instructed myself to “take ownership”. I was beginning to think the hard drive may be faulty but neither chkdsk or the manufacturer disk checking tools finds any errors. What am I doing wrong ? Robbie
  3. Thanks for the reply guys. The issue still occurred in safe mode and normal mode but only on my profile not others who use the PC. Google didn't want to be much of a friend lately and couldn't trace down the exact error or fix and my Vista needed a rebuild so that has been done. Funnily enough after a clean install, the error still appears in my event viewer under source " User Profile" "Windows detected your registry file is still in use by other applications or services. The file will be unloaded now. The applications or services that hold your registry file may not function properly afterwards" Event ID 1530 but the difference this time is 2 mins later under source "User Profile" "The User Profile Service has started successfully. Event ID 1531 Maybe some funny RAM ?
  4. My default profile on Windows Vista Ultimate won't load Event Viewer is showing theses error's "Windows cannot load the user's profile but has logged you on with the default profile for the system" "Windows cannot load the locally stored profile. Possible causes of this error include insufficient security rights or a corrupt local profile" "Windows detected your registry file is still in use by other applications or services. The file will be unloaded now. The applications or services that hold your registry file may not function properly afterwards. " When I do login by clicking my name, it appears to create a profile under "C:\Users\TEMP" My normal profile still exists on the PC and the documents/desktop icon are not removed and are showing as they should under C:\Users\Robbie Anyone seen this before ??

Hi All, I'm getting the above errors continuousally (more then once a day) on a 2003 Standard SP2. It appears to lockup the mail system on that server too causing emails not to be delivered. I believe it's related as when I restart the server operations work as normal until it falls over again. Google and I are not coming up with much results that are specific to the errors above. Anyone can assist ? Robbie
  6. Can anyone tell me if Microsoft Tablet Edition can a) join and login on domains b) use RDP into a Windows 2003 Standard Terminal Services box ?
  7. Hi All I'm looking for a utility that will scan hard drives and provide results showing what the size is of files and folders. Preferable works with Vista and XP Thanks Robbie
  8. I can view pictures on websites but when I actually click on a weblink to open up a photo gallery is when I just get a grey screen with no text or pictures. e.g. "click on Gallery" in the centre of the page at rugbyheaven.com.au and you will get a new window appear. It's within that window that I cant view the photo's.
  9. I have a PC with Windows XP SP2 and latest updates/patches. I'm unable to view website photo gallery from different sites. either ninemsn.com.au or smh.com.au or rugbyheaven.com.au It doesnt matter what site really. The problem is in both with Internet Explorer and Firefox. I've disabled NIS 2007 and reinstalled Adobe flash player but all I get is a blank grey screen. I'm stumped on this and I dont really want to do a rebuild of XP. Thanks Robbie
  10. Hi All I have a XP PC which is continuousally rebooting itself after POST. I have tried Safe Mode, Last Known and Normal Mode and everytime the computer restarts automatically after POST but before the XP Logo appears. I've tried different RAM (and different slot) and Video Card and taken it down to bare essentials of HDD, CD-ROM, RAM. Is there another way to capture the BSOD error as it reboots to quick to read, or some third party software that I can boot off a CD to help me resolve the issue. Thanks Robbie
