  1. Yes! I'm sure that's what it was! Breath of Fire! Thanks guys .
  2. Or ask the user if he wants to go ahead and install the framework. I'll try that, thanks .
  3. Unfortunately, it's not the game I'm looking for .
  4. I'm gussing he established an anonymous connection to your computer. I wouldn't really know though, since I'm not him, and I'm not all that great when it comes to all this vulnerability stuff .
  5. Here's what I found out about netbios-ssn .... Seems to be a process used by SAMBA (seems to be a Linux distribution) for Windows Networking compatibiity. Quick explanation of netbios-ssn ... NetBIOS explanation and here: More info on NetBIOS Seems it's a vulnerability in Windows based systems. More info here: Vulnerability information The following link is an article on how to restrict anonymous access. It's for Windows 2000, but I'm pretty sure it'll work on XP. Restricting anonymous connections Hope that helps .
  6. I remember playing an RPG on the SNES that (if I remember correctly) was a ton of fun. However, the only thing I remember about it is that at one point you go see a farmer in the desert who tells you he's having problems. A boss battle ensues, and you fight against a huge sandworm. It sure as hell ain't a lot to go on, but if anyone knows the title of the game, lemme know.
  7. Sorry about that. The "Police investigation" thing was just something I wrote in there for a laugh (if anyone here reads the news headlines on theinquirer.net you'll know what I'm talking about). As far as the template thing, I knew about them. I just found it weird that the two sites I've regged at this week look awfully similar. No hard feelings against anyone. I was just making a statement. Sorry if I offended anyone. It wasn't my goal .
  8. So I can check for the .NET framework. I'm gussing I can write a batch file that checks the registry and installs the needed files if the framework is absent, and then launches my C# application?
  9. Yes. I'm hoping to have the %OEM% folder in a modifiable partition so I can change it's contents when, for example, new video card drivers are released, so it's always up to date. And I know it's for introductions. I just don't see the point of making my own thread to say hi. I'll do it as I go along .
  10. I was wondering if there was a way to make an installer for C# applications that would check and see if the .NET framework was installed, and installs if it's not present? Also, can the framework be installed on earlier versions of Windows (before 2k)? Thanks .
  11. In case no one has noticed (which I won't flatter myself by thinking), this place (which is great) looks a LOT like TechZoneZ (www.techzonez.com). I'm stating that reference for those who'll compare it with MSFN's homepage. However, my investigation leads me to believe you guys were here first . Just thought I'd get that off my chest. I feel so much better now .
  12. Hey all, I was wondering if there it was possible to make a CD-RW bootable, while still being able to alter its contents. I've been thinking of making a bootable ISO9660 partition for all the Windows setup files, and having my %OEM% folder and such on the same disk, but on a UDF partition so I could change the files around when new versions release and stuff. Thanks for the help. (By the way, I'm new here. I just didn't think I deserved to have a whole thread dedicated to me in the introduction forums ).
