I am trying to scan a file over to a remote location via DFS (installed on a 2008R2). DFS is setup with 2 Folders. Folder 1 has a target at level1 pointing to a remote PC using UNC and IP > I can map the network drive using \\IP\DFSshare\Folder1). Folder 2 has another such folders (folder21) where the targets are. UNC with IP. I can map using \\IP\DFSshare\Folder2\Folder21. All folders have "Everyone" with full control. Problem comes when I use a Network scanner. I am able to scan to Folder1 (which goes to the remote path) but I can not scan to any location on folder2. Then network setup on the printer makes sense as I can see the right path on the network trace and I use the logic path that equal the network mapping. Does anyone has any ideas?

Hi I think I was not very clear, I hope my exemple this time will help understanding it I am using ISA 2004 server and a small description of what is going on is that I have a server running as proxy with 5 network cards. One of the network cards (subnet 192.168.2.1 is a new access that I have setup that should access one subnet only ie(192.168.3.1). Until now all works fine. Now I have a rule that all http request from outbond to 192.168.3.1 will be routed to another server (webserver 192.168.4.1). what I would like is to have my new connection (192.168.2.1) to access 192.168.3.1 but not access 192.168.4.1. If i create an exption in ISA does not seem to work.. Another try I did was to locally on the webserver 192.168.4.1 to deny access from all ip with 192.168.2.1 but this also does not work because the webserver sees the routed income comunication from 192.168.2.1 and this one I can not block access because then all other networks will be blocked.

Hi all, I have a win2k3server working as a proxy server with 4 network cards. All conections are working fine and I have access to all my subnets.. nevertheless I have to bring on board another network card for a different department but I would like to restrict access to one of the subnets... Is this possible? is this phisically setup on the local area connection? Thanks alot.

Hi all, I hope I am posting this under the correct subscription.. anyway my problem is that I have several WinXP professional and all of them have the remote tab under the system preferences. I want to use remote desktop but the people on the client devices are all time disabling that..is it possible to allow remote conenction and remove or greyout the option on the system properties? However, all that aside, the probable issues you have is that that wireless adapter is not able to go any faster, or there is something wrong with antenna/adapter it's self. Thanks for your reply.. Well I have the exact same adapter on the DELL. just that Dell is running on Vista. All the other PC on the house run fine... Execpt for mine. and only when I am connected wireless.. so i believe it could be one of two... or someting on my wireless card or someting with the pc.. i will try a driferent wireless card.. as those era built in .. its easey to replace.. but its very strange.. isn.t?

Hi all, I have Asus laptop with Intel Pro/Wireless card 3945ABG network card running the latest drivers and I am connecto to a Netgear router. My problem is that I have a 20MB internet connection and when I run a speed test (www.speedtest.net) I get very odd results. If i am wired directly to Modem - 19800MB IF I am wired to the router - 15500MB If my I use my wireless connection - 5400MB very very little. I did the same test with a Dell Inspiron 6400 and I got same results but on the wireless test I got 15000MB. So something is wrong with my wireless connection but i dont know what. I unistalled the wireless card and drivers and Intel applications. reboot computer and it auto detect new hardware and installed using windows XP tool and still i get the same results. I have bring my router to factory defaults if case problem was with any IP routing but still I have no results. I tried with antivirus and firewall off anf the results are the same. What can this be? Will I have to format my OS? Any comments are appreciated. Thanks alot. Larbac

Hi, I would like to make my usb pen bootable. The all idea is to install ghost 8 on the disk. I have the ghost file and the mouse one. but i can not make my pen bootable. My friend has a pen where he insert it and it recognizes as a floopy disk which has the bootable files. If i just copy those files to my pen it does not work. Does anyone knows how to create this "partition" of 1,44MB and the pc will recognize as floppy disk? Or maybe this came with his pen.? he does not remeber. Thanks

Hi, I have finally got my Pc in the configuration I want. I would like to save/backup/ghost ( i do not knwo how to call it) in order that I something goes wrong I will Have the image so I can boot it and Install and recover. I hear about ghost norton and so on but I have no idea how to create such disk where I will just boot and it will install autimatically. Can you help? Thanks alot

I am not big expert with ZA but I believe it works as firewall. Do you know if you can had ports to secure zone? If yes you should had the port you are using. normally I would add port 515, 9100. Hi sorry for after so long I look at this post I compleeted forgot it. Im stll with this problem. I would like to get information such as network activity on the Lan PCs. Like how much each pc is downloading and uploading. Another thing is that I have one old laptop that has 3 accounts for each person and I would like to see (if possible) which sites they were looking at, streaming, and what time). But all this should be on a normal environment where all the pc are connected to a router wireless, I have no servers. Do you think this is possible? Regards,

Hi oao I do not know if I really understood what is going on but the normal steps after installing the driver locally on the w2ks and additional driver should be only to go on your vista and had new printer, choose network printer and you should be able to find it and map it to the vista client. If you can not find it you can also specify the path where in which server the printer is in. If at this stage you get connection to the print server then you should be fine. Please keep in mind that you must share the driver on the file server and give permitions to your user. Both the server one and the remote user. Some common problems with XP XP3 may happen on vista when you can not access the driver on the file server, then please make sure that "Manage Documents" permition is setup for the users. I do not know if this really help or answer your question. Maybe you already did all this:)

Hi all, I have a wireless network, no server, all PCs connect wireless to the router. I can not get information from the router on what each pc is using of bandwith. I also can not do this with alot of sw we find on the web because it only works when connected through a server. What I needed to know is how can I check the other laptops statistics from my laptop. Apart from this I would also be interested to know if there is any report or log where I can see which websites were visited and when. Again I remeber that I have problems finding how to do this because I have all pcs connected individually to the router and not through a server. Do you think is possible to do this? Regards, Rui
