  2. How exactly do I do this? Do I need to put the reg file into the source root and then run GUIRUNONCE commands?
  3. Alright, so I'll start doing this tonight. I should start from a fresh XP install (from nLite), got it. Must I really break the steps into parts? Also, what if I don't have an internet connection when I am tweaking? How can I update X-Setup/ plugins ?
  4. Updates 08-30-08 WOT for Internet Explorer 20080830 Microsoft Windows Live Messenger 2009 v14.0.3921.717 BETA AVG Antivirus Free Edition v8.0.169 Build 1359 Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 Public Beta 2
  5. Hm .... Have you even started? Well, I recommend you get a virtual machine to test your nLited disk, VMWare OR VirtualBox OR VirtualPC 2007. Do you have all your stuff ? I mean like service pack, updatepack, drivers, add-ons, etc. . **For drivers, you can take multiple paths. I have used Driverpacks and Drivermax Backup drivers. If you are using the same computer with drivers you are happy with, download DriverMax ( http://www.drivermax.com/ ), read up on the data, and fire up the program and select export. DRIVER UPDATES ARE NOT NECESSARY if you are already happy with your current state. As for add-ons, these are programs/ utilities you might like to insert in without having to do it after XP install. Post back on what you are planning to do and ask any questions you have.
  6. All done !! EDIT:: Just realized updated versions for some add-ons. I'll make the appropriate changes.
  7. mr.brownstone, what theme are you using for your WinXP partition? Is there a black variation of it? (Asking since I'm planning to use another bootup screen from the Darkside one: http://www.wincert.net/forum/index.php?sho...&hl=logonui . This is the one I'm planning to switch to: http://www.wincert.net/forum/index.php?sho...c=4184&st=0 --> Windws XP SP3 black. It matches !!) Is there anychance I can contact the author and ask for him/ her to include the user picture in the start menu? Thanks a lot !! EDIT:: If you'd like to, you can probably use the boot up screen here: http://007tinar.deviantart.com/art/RONAK-85892384 --> matches your blue.
  8. Kel, I donated, but I'm not sure whether you got it or not. (PMed you also on RyanVM forums, but not sure if you're gonna login and check messages.)
  9. Try looking at WinCert ( http://www.wincert.net/ ) or here: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5774 NOTE: from what I can confirm, there seems to be a problem with the theme color changes. Won't matter if you are generally a fan of the black .
  10. Yeah, slipsteam SP3 into the mix, and then, perhaps select ONE of these add-ons (no need for both): http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6431 OR http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5657
  11. Here's one (I didn't understand your problem, so I didn't response ... . Look's like XPero's got it !!): Uxtheme Multi-patcher 6.0 --> http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/OS-Enh...tiPatcher.shtml Home page website: http://www.windowsxlive.net/?p=604 (looks like its down, you should still try to get to it to read the fine print).
  12. Heya guys !! So, ask you all should know, power users LOOOVVEEE customizing their computers to suite their needs. I sure do. Every new computer, there are always registry tweaks. However, I would wish to make an add-on, or at least a .REG or .INF file that contains all my tweaks so I can run it once everything is set. Problem is, I have no clue how to do this. Sure, there have been threads, like this one http://www.msfn.org/board/How-can-I-reprod...gs-t122220.html . But practically none of them explain the complete steps on carry it out. My request: may someone walk me through the best method of making a custom .REG/ .INF file that contains all my post-application/post-nLite tweaks? **I believe the most simplest way is using X-Setup right after Windows Setup is completed. Thus, I think it would be best for me to follow a method using this program. Can someone please explain it to me? And afterwards, how do I make a .REG or .INF file out of it? Perhaps someone can help me make an add-on once I have all my tweaks together? Thanks a lot guys !! I really appreciate it !!
  13. Alrighty then !! Just hold off until perhaps next Friday (that's when I get my final summer paycheck ). Go ahead and look for yourself a better mobo that fits your needs (and make sure its future proof !!). Be sure to share it with us !!
  14. Kel, how fast/ soon do you need this? I can donate in about 1 or 2 more weeks. Heck, I can donate the full amount !! --If it is an immediate need, sorry, I can't help you there . If you can wait for it, go ahead and select a more future proof mobo !! **No, seriously, if you can wait, go ahead and select a more future-proof mobo (quad core, perhaps 8 gb max, pci-e 2, etc.). I can provide the full $50 you need for the provided one.
  15. Also added Bit Che and SIW under JD74's request . --08/23/08 EDIT: Also edited WOT to 20080811 (updated)
  16. Wait ... So what exactly was wrong? **Was it that you were working from a VM before? And I don't understand what you did with the OEM to 000 files (could you elaborate on this and on what it does? I'm interested). Great to heart that everything works out !!
  17. johndoe74, can you upload some more mirrors? I'm having problems with the ifile.it download (perhaps I'm too impatient or there aren't enough tickets ... ?). It seems that you've mixed up Pro anf Free versions (for a past version, 3.6.4). In my VM (for v3.64), it seems that you've gotten the Pro version rather than the Free. Could you double check on that? --> http://www.wisecleaner.com/download.html . Free version is right below the Pro.
  18. Hm ... When initiating a shutdown signal into the machine, it reports the cfp.exe will not shut down. **I guess I will also try an install into MS Virtual PC. Soon !!
  19. Alright, so you guys think it may be a VM problem? --If it is, we will find out really soon, since I am gonna install the disk once everything's in order .
  20. Alright guys, alright. Thanks for the compliment, emailaya. So, have you started from a fresh install disk (perhaps the one where you have the enter the product key instead) ? Shouldn't be much of a hassle; just use nLite to enter the product key. It simplifies the process. And yeah, try to give nuhi a break (he made the program for us, and he's constantly modifying it). Perhaps he has things going around his daily, non-MSFN life?
  21. Thanks, Jman1993 !! (Problem with me is that I haven't got the network working in the VM yet -___- .) Here is the dump files: -cpf.zip is the one COMODO creates when it can't send it -crashdump.txt is the one I copy and pasted -dump.dmp is the one I also copy and pasted and saved as DMP file cfp.zip Copy_Pastedumps.rar
  22. Hm ... That's weird. Have you used the correct, *Microsoft XP SP3 for Network Administrators* executable (or something like that) ? Here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en Are your using a FRESH WinXP source? **Since the one you are using is messed up, start all over. --Try not to work in the Desktop (create a folder in C:/ root, since it has something to do with filenames and stuff. C:/ root will have a shorter working filepath, while like something in desktop for example will have a bunch of things to get by). Report back to us ASAP.
