May work after that. tried that too along with another file thats name goes like nt...cat it made even a worse response in the beggining of the gui part of setup...

I copied the following files from an MSDN XP PRO sp3 vlk: DPCDLL.DL_ OEMBIOS.BI_ OEMBIOS.CA_ OEMBIOS.DA_ OEMBIOS.SI_ PIDGEN.DLL SETUPP.INI I get the following error on first logon - "The product key is not valid for this media type please use the correct installation cd to reinstall windows ERROR CODE:0x80040509" thought this method was supposed to work, so what else can I try?

I have exatly the same problem but i want only swedish left:( but all are back next time i start nLite. then it not remove the files in the remove box..nLite never removes NLS files and random other files that ARE safe to remove. exemple in remove files section i saw it in this topic to someother mayd BUG nlite did not remove the files in the remove box.. http://www.msfn.org/board/BUG-nlite-did-no...th-t120060.html I just tried to NAME the files to remove instead of using WILDCARDS, used your excact file remove preset but with specific names instead of *.avi .... it works fine in 1.4.5 ... didn't try it in 1.4.7 ... i went back because of the bug I found. I don't think its a bug as nowhere in the Remove components window/nlite docs does it say wildcards are allowed. did they work in the past?

Bug found in 1.4.7 - I was trying to leave only Hebrew, Russian(and irremovable English USA of course), but get left with the whole "Western Europe and USA" and "Cyrillic" categories no matter how many times I try, went back to nlite 1.4.5 and it sure did remove those languages and save me 0.11mb of space Does this have anything to do with Russian nls file bug fix?

DO NOT remove sync manager or else... no sony ericsson pc suite! i learned a lesson about windows dependencies the hard way.

what can I safely remove? I use pc for gaming, old and new games, use both ie7 and firefox to browse, use office 2007, use outlook express, use icq and msn messenger, foobar2000, winamp, media player classic as part of klite codec pack to play movies. want suppot for dsl/cable connections, maybe some home networking in the future(or to share with the preset with friends) no webserver here! no domain either! right now connect through the windows pppoe dialer. want full hardware suppot - mobile phone, joystick, cd writing, printing, camera's, scanners ect! want full software support...without sudden dependency problems...its a pain to do a reinstall or trying to reinstall a removed component...! i do use microsoft update without live updates need full functionality without any bloatware! Hi all! installed all my favourited software&drivers&updated&games later checked some all cool so far, checked taskman for mem usage - 120mb commit charge on boot with everything i want&need thought i'm doing great yet can't sync my phone with official soft which i installed last all i can do with sony ericsson pc suite is watch the mmc card through win explorer.. it also shows the networking stuff, no taskbar icon nor any loading or error messeges.tried the log too it doesn't show anything wrong!
