  1. Oh yes they do read the feedback, even from the executive level. Based on my own experience . They'll disguise usually unless one of the big dogs like Sinofsky or Balmer. they will register and then reply if you hit a nerve.Hi Steve.
  2. Someone on another forum suggested www.dailyrotation.com which is exactly what I was looking for!
  3. I know about RSS and other similar news feeds. I know how to configure Google to do something like this but it's not easy. But what I would really like to have is a website where I can configure it to display the top 5 or 10 news or NEW posts from pre-selected sites on the internet. Maybe it could sign on the site or forum for me. It would display something like this: (These are just examples, not based on any preference at this time. Output should be sorted with most recent items first.) MSFN * New Windows 7 RC released (dreaming here) Date/Time * Some news article Date/Time * Some new post Date/Time * Some new post Date/Time * Some new post Date/Time ARS Technica * Some news article Date/Time * Some new post Date/Time * Some news article Date/Time * Some new post Date/Time * Some news article Date/Time GeekSmack * Some news article Date/Time * Some new post Date/Time * Some news article Date/Time * Some new post Date/Time * Some news article Date/Time So forth and so on....... Does anyone know of such an animal or something similar? Thanks for any reply.
  4. I have used Hiren's and other emergency boot CD's but what you need is to boot from a Vista or Win7 DVD. Select the option to repair, or recovery console or boot to safe mode if you can. You could try getting a hold of a copy of the disk utilities, like Norton Disk Doctor, Disk Keeper, etc.. Maybe they could help.
  5. The 200mb partition is installed automatically by MS if the hard drive has only one primary partition. Otherwise, it creates a RECOVERY directory on the installed primary. This is what MS intended.
  6. Sounds bad. Sounds like the boot sector is damaged. Possible hard drive problem? Virus? Can you get to the Win7 or Vista DVD to boot to repair option? If you can, then run 'CHKDSK /r' or scandisk. Then run 'FIXBOOT' or 'FIXMBR' to rewrite the boot sector.
  7. Thanks Softice. This is a great little program. You are absolutely sure this contains no spyware/malware? I know it is certified clean but I have had issues with other TCPIP patches being infected. I ran your latest TCP-Z through four scanners and it appears to be clean.
