  1. So i started building image for installation of windows 8.1, but immediately i faced very stupid problem i dont see solution for. Freshly installed windows 8.1 PRO, rebooted to syspreping mode (CTRL +shift +f3), first thing i usually did is to update windows, but now it just continuously stuck on Checking for updates and that never ends.. What im missing here?
  2. Here's a very simple solution to this problem which i just tested as i couldn't find real fix. Rename C:\Windows\System32\WinSAT.exe -> "_WinSAT.exe" Windows will not run WinSAT anymore, and even make installation go faster and Aero was still enabled for me without problems. Than you can make a one time run script (i have user autlogon and puted this bat in startup folder) ren C:\Windows\System32\_WinSAT.exe WinSAT.exe del %0 Renames WinSAT to original name and bat deletes it self.
  3. What exactly does windows do during "Checking videoperfomance" ? Is it running winsat.exe just on graphics part? And is there a way to simple skip this step?
  4. I did try latest drivers, i tryed older ones also, i tryed without drivers. Any pc should be able to boot without any graphics drivers added, and as i wrote, if i simple try installing it again without changing anything on server than it goes just fine..
  5. Recently im having problems with my installations over network using server 2008r2. Im getting stuck at "Setup is checking video performance" I checked all the logs inside "Panther" folder and inside WDS server and found no errors. I tryed disabling all the drivers, also no luck. Server was running for 1year without problems and installed over 500 images, and nothing was changed on it.. Now whats even stupider if i start installation again (format disk again and put it to install over network again), installation goes just fine and windows passes "checking video performance" and boots into windows. Than again i tryed re-installing this other laptop 3 times and it was stuck again.. Does anyone has any idea where should i start looking for a fix for the problem, as this is so weird and it confuses me that i dont know what to do...
  6. That makes sense! I'm gona try download full installation package and try installing it. If thats not gona work, im simple gona export/delete those keys, and gona make automated one time run script which will restore them when new PC boots.
  7. It's installed simple from Web, and i tryed using Windows update, its lastest available version and its on Croatian language. From the pack i have installed Messenger, Movie maker, and Windows live mail. Thats all.
  8. After updating my windows 7 install image, and trying to install it at final steps im getting "Windows can not finish configuring the computer". Checked install logs and found out it was a part or Windows live essentials 2011 registry keys that are preventing instalation to finish. Errors like this: Failed to process reg key or one of its descendants: [\REGISTRY\USER\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\IdentityCRL\DeviceIdentities\production]. Failed to process reg key or one of its descendants: [\REGISTRY\USER\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\IdentityCRL\DeviceIdentities] And so on...lots of them all related to IdentityCRL... After removing all IdentityCRL keys from registry than syspreping image installation works fine. Only thing is Messnger cant login because of missing registry data, which is solved by reapiring windows live. Does anyone know why new Essentials 2011 is giving sysprep registry errors and how to fix it? I dont wana remove registry keys each time updating image, and run repair after each installed computer. Thanks for any help in advance!
  9. I got it working now, using GImageX v2. It was very simple, all you need to do is use change option, to write atributes for each image as shown in picture. And finally! Thank you again for your help, and i hope i helped someone else with same problem.
  10. Thank you for usefull answers. I will try now with gimagex, and report you results.
  11. Hello! I have created 2 different images of windows 7 x86 and x64. Each of those images works and can be installed np (from stick because each has round 12GB). I Have the following problem: I used imagex to export those 2 images into 1 unique image containing both versions (x64 and x86). When i use imagex /info it shows both images and their index numbers and everything looks good there... But! When i boot it and reach screen where you need to select version to install, that list is empty. Its weird because there's still a selectable 2 fields but their are empty, and even if i try to click on them i get "windows couldn't find any images available for installation" I tryed deleting all .CLG files in sources folder like some guides say, but thats not helping. I tryed this a few times with same result. I would apritate if anyone could help me with this problem.
