  1. Hello, Yes but doing that I have an error message : JRE-6U23-WINDOWS-I586 has generated a page failure in the module JRE-6U23-WINDOWS-I586.EXE at 0177:0040e5a6. (message in french, translated) - whjen I go with u22 it works ..... Some people report the two latest JRE installer to crash, others don't. I am not sure why this is and even for those who don't report crashes the installation is not really too straightforward. Have a look at this topic in case it may help: Dear all. I faced the same situation as described by loblo in one of his message under the above referenced post "Here it goes like that with KernelEx installed for the latest java runtimes. I run the executable which seems to autoexit without doing anything. In fact it extracts an msi installer + cab file to a subfolder of C:\Windows\Application Data\Sun\Java named as the version to install. Then I run the msi installer from there and it installs normally. Just installed the newly released update 24 today, no problems". I have a crash when trying to install but msi file is here. I have run u23 msi and u24 msi without trouble. ...amazing ... Thanks for your help

  3. Dear all, Hello from France. When trying to install java updates 23 or 24, I have an error message "File is missing - GDIplus.dll has not been found" ---Till 22 it was working - I have uninstalled java and went up from 6 update 1 till 6 update 22 again without any trouble. and again same error message with both 23 and 24. Any clue? I have tried to copy GDIplus.dll in several locations - no way to solve I run win98SE with KEx 4.5 final - Had the same issue with RC4 Last versions of Flash and FF run perfectly Thanks
  4. Dear all, Thought my explanations were clear, i will then try to be more precise. 1) Obviously I have Kernelex final installed 2) I have made a manual modification of the registry launching the regedit program via Start\Run (don't forget that I have a french Win 98SE and that I'm not familiar with the english names of commands) 3) Once the registry was open, I went tho the key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion" 4) I left clicked on that key to select it and at the same time to display on the right pane of the registry the strings associated to that key 5) I had only one which was "default" 6) still the key mentioned at point 3 selected, i have done right click, hitting "add new string value" command 7) then a new string appeared on the right pane with invitation to give a name - I have called that new string CurrentVersion 8) then I have double clicked on this newly created string (on the right pane) and entered 5.1 in the corresponding window 9) Then I have closed the registry, rebooted the PC and run Flash 10 install with success Hope this helps - This is the usual procedure to make manuel changes to the registry
  5. Dear all, What i did to run my ipod on 98SE First, one needs to have USB2 : I used a PCI to USB2 card which works perfectly despite what the vendor said to me ..... Second, one needs a Win98 driver for ipod. I have it - Don't know if it is authorised to post in the forum.exe file but i'm sure you should be able to find it over the net Third one needs a soft to navegate inside the ipod- Itunes doe not run on 98 - I have installed anapod 9.0.1 (not a freeware, 1Mb!!!!!) Hello from France
  6. Hello Philco Don't have this string under Windows NT but under Windows. Regdone= 1 is a key for registration to allow download from microsoft sites - Should not bother flash install even if at Windows NT string. Bye
  7. Flash 10 - How I made it on 98SE! Dear all. I have several times tried the proposed solution with xp.reg and unxp.reg and was not successfull, Flash always refusing to install because of non supported version. I then discovered that the double click was not adding the specified line in the registry. Therefore i did it manually and it worked !! What i did : run regedit and then hit "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion" At that string, I have made "add new string" though right click then I have typed current version for he name and 5.1 for the value Now i have two strings defaut and current version under current version After that change, flash 10 install worked and falsh 10 now works Hello from France - Hope this helps My machine is : Win98SE, ASUS P2B-F June 99 (slot 1 what a marvel!!), PIII 1400 Tualatin on a Powerleap adaptor; ATA 100 through PCI adaptor, USB2 through PCI adaptor - More than 10 years of fun with it. Long life to 98SE! Thanks for keeping it alive!
