an USB/SATA connected optical drive (CD/DVD-ROM), which does not work in RAID mode. To solve this problem you should either boot off an IDE connected optical drive or by doing the following: Create a bootable USB stick (you will find how-to's after having done a google search for this method) and extract the XP x64 ISO file with the integrated RAID driver onto the prepared USB stick. Then start the XP x64 installation by booting off the USB stick (precondition: correct BIOS setting regarding the bootable devices). Good luck! my first cd only had the Intel® ICH8R/ICH9R/ICH10R/DO/5 WHQL one, and because it didnt work (BSOD with 0x0000007b error), my 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc cd's ended up having all of the drivers.You should create a new XP CD with just the correctly integrated 64bit Intel RAID driver by using an untouched source. hey i did that but it still gives the error. what else can i do? moreover, why do you think that error comes up? and what could it be? plz help im frustrated cos i've been working on dis for abt a month now...

in the past yes , with Fernando's help not anymore.attaching dvdrom from usb and ahci/sata etc. things are totally different. At least you can be sure connecting through usb has no issue on installing xp (x64 or x86 etc.) , I use usb connection my self for years to install. I strickly advice you to follow Fernando's posts providing required information asked properly, be sure there is light in the end @Fernando I just figured out to use msfn pm, and just send one to you, I hope I managed . You should not integrate all AHCI and RAID drivers, but just the one you need. If you have integrated the Intel RST textmode driver v9.6.0.1014, you have to enable only the "Intel® ICH8R/ICH9R/ICH10R/DO/5 Series/3400 Series SATA RAID Controller".Here is my question again: Which driver (version, WHQL/modded) did you integrate? I repeat my question: Is there a file named WINNT.SIF within the XP x64 CD you used as source? That was not a good idea. The only thing you should integrate is the Intel textmode driver. If you really want help, you should give me some additional informations:Please let us know the chipset and the Southbridge of your system. Alternatively you can post the vendor and the name of the computer or mainboard. Are you running your SATA hdd('s) in AHCI or in RAID Mode? Which Windows XP x64 Pro version (without SP = SP0, with integrated SP1 or SP2?) was on your USB drive, when you tried to get the OS installed? Did you slipstream any drivers into the XP x64 image? If yes, which ones? Most important are the vendor and the version of the integrated drivers. Where did you get the Windows XP Professional x64 version from? Did you really use an original (=untouched) OS as source? Which drivers have been loaded? If you are running your SATA hdd('s) in AHCI or RAID mode, they will not be detected by the Windows XP x64 Setup, unless you have loaded (F6) or integrated the suitable AHCI or RAID textmode driver.If you really didn't load or integrate any textmode driver, then you obviously used no original (=untouched) OS as source. You can easily verify it by having a look into the AMD64 directory of your XP x64 source. If you will see a file named WINNT.SIF, the OS has already been customized by you or someone else. •Intel® X58 / ICH10R . its an asus p6t6 ws revolution motherboard. •running in RAID mode . must be RAID, otherwise RAIDed HDDs don't work in AHCI •xp pro x64 with SP2 integrated •not in usb drive, but SATA DVD drive connected via usb (acting as an external, otherwise i cannot boot with cd or dvd... it says cd rom boot priority...35, etc etc etc) •yeh, i slipstreamed ALL Sata AHCI and RAID drivers for Intel, just to be sure. my main one is ICH10R raid, and thats what i care about. i even did a floppy disk, with f6 and it said windows has already loaded them, so the drivers are loaded properely •as i said, there is no need for f6, i have intergrated them. •i think the cd has been customised, as it had sp2 on it, and i added the drivers. i added textmode drivers, and pnp aswell (after many cd's, i decided to add the whole lot to guarantee it) and the size grew by like 1 mb

yeah i fully read them. however i still can't get a fix for the BSOD 0x7b error. its frustrating. i did everything the post said. didn't you ever get that error?. also, did you attach ur dvd rom with usb (the same problem i had where SATA is not recognised properely with AHCI and RAID) ? can't boot with it, must be attached via usb

yeah i checked google but could not find any solutions. maybe you could help me out, or redirect me to a solution ? also, where is fernando, i need his professional help!

hi, i have a problem, and this problem is probably the same with heaps of users out there who cannot boot XP PRO 64 bit (with sata/raid) drivers and achieve a successful install. i get a stop 0x0000007b error message when i try to boot with xp. it loads the drivers, (no need for f6 - i'm sick of reading sad case ppl saying u need a floppy in other posts all over da net!). it happens when it says "setup is starting windows" or something like that right after drivers are being loaded. My dvd rom is operating as external USB, because i cannot use the SATA DVD Drive in AHCI or RAID mode. hmm... i DON'T want to use IDE function because my whole purpose of integrating drivers with sata/raid is to USE Raid... and i need it that way for video editing. windows 7 was allright, but XP 64 is better. if my annoying problem is solved, i, and a whole lot of other ppl on da internet forums will be happy too. such a problem doesn't happen when booting with win 7 64. only xp in AHCI and RAID mode.
