Dear Fernando, First of all I would like to convey and express my sincere gratitude for all of your help and information, It is rare that "anyone" will return a response within any forum. When they have been profoundly helped by one that knows the answer after they have been helped. They just move on and never reply with either a "thanks" or "here is how you helped me fix my problem". Quite frankly I consider this behavior described above. Very "RUDE" and "disrespectful" to those that confoundedly help when anyone asks for help. Fernando you knew the proper answer and respectfully replied with unconditional respect. Of course you already know that about yourself. That is called "Integrity". Getting back to whether the Intel driver's need to be sliptreamed with the nLite and Win XP SP3 for the P67 chip-set as described in the workaround. After a clean install with "fresh" hardware and properly Nlite slipstreamed software, The most recent Intel full set of drivers "are" needed or your modified version (which work more effectively). The reg mod is absolutely needed after installing win XP in ide mode. Then changing to AHCI mode as described in the initial post for the solution. Hello Fernando, I am reasonably sure that the ASUS P8P67 LE motherboard has the ICH10R Southbridge. Here is the Intel RST log file, http://www.datafilehost.com/download-e1d0c1f2.html If I understand you correctly, Then either the options are to run my system is AHCI or in RAID mode and there is not an option to run AHCI+RAID? The Device Manager states: Intel® Desktop/Workstation/Server Express Chipset SATA AHCI Controller Driver Version 10.1.0.1008 According to the Intel RST (Rapid Storage Technology) GUI it conveys that AHCI+RAID is available on the system. As for the reason of the reg edit inserting the SATA RAID controller into the registry. It just happened to work out after doing so. Dumb luck I guess or it might be it is not necessarily needed.. Curiosity is killing the cat and having a fresh pair of 1 TB SATA hard drives for my anticipated RAID array. I will attempt the same installation on one of the fresh SATA drives without the registry modification. Reason being to determine if the reg. mod may not be all that necessary. Before that is attempted, There is a Golf match in Georgia that needs to be purveyed on my end. Thanks again for all of your invaluable help and direction. Just another nuance of something I noticed which is not directly related to this topic, When starting Win XP in IDE mode. The start-up time from boot was about 30+seconds and when in (what I may think) AHCI mode is 8 seconds. Best regards Jim

Finally after 3 days of tireless attempts, I have found a workaround for XP sp3 32bit and full AHCI with Intel ICH10R P67 chipsets Although this might be slightly off topic. The fix incorporated your win-lite N-lite slipstream integration of Intel's sata ahci and raid drivers. This is specific to the MARVELL STORAGE CONTROLLER on ASUS P8P67 motherboards. A similar post was made in the ASUS forum, and soon at few others. Here is how the problem was resolved. First of all Install n-lite slip-streamed XP pro Service pack 3 with the Intel drivers slipped in. * note: when installing WIN XP use a 2gb or less of memory. USE an ide DVD optical drive unit because the SATA optical drive is not recognized in windows Connect your SATA drive to the Blue Marvell SATA port on the mother board. (ASUS) Set SATA in bios as AHCI set MARVELL STORAGE CONTROLLER as IDE, this can automatically be set this way by pressing F5 in the advanced BIOS setup. Save and exit. Fernando, Just an update that is more on "topic". First of all thank you again for all of your invaluable help. After 14 clean Nlite XP SP3 ISO burns with every possible use of the Intel Marvell Driver sets. Some loaded XP. "ALL" failed to install without a BSOD or other no Disk found scenario's. When Slipping in with your >modded 32bit Intel MSM textmode driver v8.9.8.1005< and then selecting ICH10.inf file and streaming it into the Nlite ISO. "EXPLICITLY" following the instructions on the first page. My ASUS P8P67 LE is up and running in full AHCI mode. Had you not protested my thoughts in the initial post in this thread, I would still be running in IDE mode and somewhat satisfied with doing so. Hi Fernando, Thanks again for your sincere help, Having tried your 6GB port suggestion first , I noticed a Blue "MARVEL" 6gb sata port next to the grey ones then looked again at the ASUS manual. I feel like such an "id*ot" ASUS supplies a dedicated 6gb SATA Marvel port. Manual? I don’t need read no steenkin’ manual. I have a 3gb drive so naturally in my mind I was set on connecting to a 3GB SATA port. The Nllite ISO is now loading in AHCI. I decided on a full format for a very clean install so a TB is going to take awhile. The Marvell driver was from the ASUS install dvd and the version is 9128. 9120 is also available they are quite recent because ASUS manufactured the board this March. {no need to do this now, I will try to slip in the 32bit Intel, also the 6gb port method, and do a separate 9120 marvel. Hopefully one of them will take in AHCI mode. Thanks so much for your advice. My thoughts were also I may have forced the SATA drive into IDE mode and a reformat would do the trick. Having forgotten how many 100's times I had to re-format while beta testing XP} Thanks again, and I upset with my self right now for causing such a ruckus, when I should have "completely" read the steenkin' manual. You can integrate them both, but when you get the textmode driver popup window, you should just highlight the listed "Marvell 91xx SATA Controller 32bit Driver".Regards Fernando Hello, After arriving home from work, Well here is the new scenario with this new ISO, When the bios is set to AHCI (marvel is also set to AHCI) the disc is recognized in the bios, When slipstreaming the XP installer loads then says Windows can find no Hard Disc. When the bios is set to IDE WinXP is ready to load. Considering one of two options either load via IDE and hope that SATA AHCI is restored with the new marvel driver or Attempt to re-format the drive with SeaTools to reset the MFT and MBR and start from square one. If you want to get the best possible stability and performance, you should set the SATA Controller of your SATA3 hdd to "AHCI" mode.Since you will get a BSOD, if you change the SATA BIOS settings from within your currently running OS, I recommend 1. to create a new XP CD with integrated Intel resp. Marvell 91xx AHCI driver (please restart the procedure from scratch with a fresh copy of your original XP CD) 2. to set the SATA Controller of your hdd to "AHCI" mode andand 3. to restart a fresh XP installation. Answer to Question #1 The Sata3 Drive is connected to the blue #1 on the MB. Answer question 2. Since first attempting to install XP with out Slipstreaming , I had a BSOD for PCI video error, which lead me to this forum, having an Nvidia 560ti, I assumed that the Nvidia slipstream was appropriate. Just a quick question about Slipping in the Marvell 91xx AHCI driver, Should it be just the individual(32) mv91xx.inf or the both the mvx91xx.inf and mvxxmm.inf ? Thanks So much, Here is the the history of my slipstream, 2 iso's made, First ISO run, Using Nvidia driver Houston we have a problem, Ground Control to Major Jim, " Whats the problem?". Windows did not find any hard disk drive. Go check your bios setting's. They are set to SATA AHCI. Pull memory sticks and reduce to 2 gig. Visit MSFN and read the info, oops' did not load Nvidia drivers right, back to square one. Second IS0run, Using the correct Nvidia driver. Houston we still have a problem, Ground Control to Major Jim, " Whats the problem?". Windows did not find any hard disk drive. Houston hey Jim Go check your bios setting's. They are set to SATA AHCI. Scratch head, Change BIOS to IDE mode, Third Run using ISO 2, Houston we have liftoff Windows XP up and running, 11 min install. After beta testing Windows from 98 through XP watching countless OS installs over the years. This was the fastest install I have ever experienced. Now I have a question. Will this hard drive stay in IDE mode or can it be changed back to SATA 3? Now it's time to load the new drivers and find out if my old SATA 1.5 array can be restored with this new OS. Hello I just want to express my wholehearted THANK YOU for this thread and forum A spilled glass of orange juice (screwdriver LOL pardon the pun) caused a meltdown on my P4 XP pro NLE system of course a new system build was in need, After the the BSOD on a clean system I knew a different approach would be necessary, Having found slip-streaming was the answer, and hence arrived here. This will be my first attempt on a ASUS P8P67 le , 8gb ram 2x2x2x2 dual channel ddr3 1600, Geforce GTX 560ti, Seagate 1tb Sata 3 32mb cache 7200rpm. 500w Thermaltake PS. Old tower thoroughly cleaned and new fans. Win XP Pro RTM w/SP2,3 At this point we are making the slipstream disc and hopefully it will work on the first shot at it.
