Avast 4.8 still works for me on windows 98se I was able to register it until october 1 2014. I registered here:http://www.avast.com/go.php?verb=register-home〈=eng I did not do a new install for years. So I cannot know if a new install will work. But I can only advise to register at the above link. Maybe it works.

No problems here with opera 12.02 and kernelex 4.5.2 and windows 98 SE.

Correction I did change the letter type but got an error in the registry. I placed a good copy of the registry back. I will try again soon.

Hello Schwups I have not done that but I did get an error in the registry I had made a copy off the registry and placed it back and this solved this problem. I will try soon again. You mean that vlc uses the letter type Tahoma (Western) Size 8. I know the new vlc uses the qt framework just like the qt web browser.

I have the same problem with qtweb browser and vlc there are no words in the menu at the top. Is this a problem with the qt framework ?

Most problems have to do with opera.dll and the message: (Failed to load Opera.dll because: a device attached to the system is not working) has to do with it. And with the file iphlpapi.dll !! Hello there. Seems I had a portable version off opera 12.10 build 1652 with a plugin wrapper. And the normal version is without a plugin wrapper a little strange. Well It will be difficult to run this one one on windows 98 se with Kernelex when you look at the problems with iphlpapi.dll. I copied the xp version in the start directory of opera. But then you need to install a lot of xp dll files which I did. I looked at the dependencies with dependency walker (And I know there is a lot of criticism doing this) I have copied all the dll files in the opera directory. Well dependency walker told me that all the dll files where there. There where some errors. Well there where some import and export function errors. I have not tried to start opera yet. I do not know what happens when I do.

Hello I thought that I had the latest portable version off opera. Seems that I was wrong. I had downloaded version 12.10 build 1650 And in this version there was no plugin wrapper. Now I downloaded build 1652 and now there is the plugin wrapper again.

I have put another iphlpapi.dll the xp version in the application directory of the portable version off opera 12.10. Now I checked opera.dll with dependency walker and the problem was getadapteraddress where gone. It seems I just needed some extra dll's from xp. I have written this only for discussion. I do not pretend that this is something solution at all. I have not started this version of opera jet afraid for a bad crash.
