  1. alright... i have to find a proper way to do the disable/enable stuff with devCon first. i don't do things like this regularely so it will need some time to get into but after a first look, it seems to be fairly understandable. the main concept is the make a shortcut which starts the task (enalbe/disable) then... right? should i start a new topic for this things... i dont want to spam this important topic with OT stuff
  2. great, thx andre i'll try that! thx for all your help btw... everything (except the poor atheros) runs well now! great support here
  3. thx exactly what i thought after all those tests... it doesnt matter if i use win7 from 2009 or win7 with all latest updates and it doesnt matter if i use atheros driver from 2009 or the latest... it is always the same behaviour in latency-monitor! btw. is there a way to make a script or bat-file to deactivate and reactivate the wlan-card in the device-manager? it would be an acceptable workaround to have the possibility to switch it on and off directly from desktop btw2. the hardware on/off switch at the vaio only deactivates the driver... the spikes still happen when i use this switch... i have to manually deactivate the atheros in device manager... thats quite annoying
  4. hi andre thx for your help so far... any more ideas? i've tried a lot of different drivers for the atheros this weekend... odler drivers, new drivers... no difference. as soona s the atheros 9285 driver is activate ndis.sys creats latency spikes. the same for the battery... sony drivers and win7 drivers both make acpi.sys create latency. when i deactivate atheros and battery in the device manager the laptop runs perfect... really annoyed with this situation
  5. ok, thx when i've uploaded the first traces opera wasnt even installed... i installed opera yesterday but its not difference if i use ie8, ie9, opera or no browser at all... the ndis caus some spikes even when there is no internet usage at all... atheros is updated and there are no more windows updates available. what to do next?
  6. i've done all the updates (atheros seems to be the latest driver already) and now LatencyMon shows some other driver files which causes latency!! ntoskrnl.exe, dxgkrnl.sys,... traces follow in some minutes...
  7. alright... i tought sp1 was included in my updates, sorry i install sp1 and atheros again (i updated atheros wlan twice... before and after the updates) i'll be back with new traces, thx
  8. here we are again... the 2 new traces https://rapidshare.com/files/1393689177/interrupt_cpu. https://rapidshare.com/files/3887287024/dpc_cpu_use.ETL win updates worked well but the processes which cause spikes are still the same acpi, ndis, usb, iastore ...
  9. i've downloaded the latest win SDK and installed xperf according to your tut... should be the latest then right? i've forget to do this buffer thing... and i will get all win7 updates/sp1 if you say it is a real help... a support-guy at my music-store told me not to update anything after a clean new win isntallation when i want to use the pc as DAW only... i download all this stuff now... its 297mb... should be quite quick updates 30/94 is done... which ETL file should i redo with buffer size set correct? the CPU or the interrupt_CPU?
  10. and here is what LatencyMon 2.01 says: Your system appears to be suitable for playing real time audio without dropouts. Disable variable speed settings like Intel Speed Step and AMD Cool N Quiet in the BIOS setup for more accurate results.
  11. i'm back have done the traces... here are the files from interrupt_cpu and cpu (wasn't sure which one you'll need after reading your tut, sorry) hope you can find the problems! i've tried to disable apci battery management and the atheros wlan card with the device manager and all latency problems are gone... hope we find a way so i don't need to disable those devices evertime i will use the laptop for audio (as daw) https://rapidshare.com/files/485789426/cpu.ETL https://rapidshare.com/files/4182837958/interrupt_cpu.ETL
  12. with the setup (ati catalyst setup for example...) is there a chance that it works inside the device manager? how to install in device manager when i only get exe or install-files and no INF? and one additional quastion: where do i get proper usbport drivers? the search for intel 55 chipset drivers only leads me to a chipset driver-set where intel states that apg and usb is not port of the driverset?
  13. i can't install the original ati drivers for the GPU nor can i install original bios update for the intel chipset... only the ones provided by vaio support work! i'll try to install original network and usb and wlan drivers as soon as i'm home but i guess they're blocked by sony aswell.... then i can upload the ETL (i'm not at that computer right now) is there a way to work around sony's driver-block-strategy?
