  1. Hi all, I am trying to put standard Seagate firmware onto a HP 'GB1000EAFJL' hard drive but am having problems and wonder if it is even possible. The actual Seagate model number is ST31000340NS and I've been able to flash these successfully in the past so feel that there is some HP 'block' on these. The HP firmware is HPG6 and I'd like to eventually put NA01 on them so I can shove them in a NetApp filer but I've not been able to do this either so taking 1 step at a time. I've tried various Seagate utilities and commands (fdl468 and sf) running from a bootable stick but error out with incorrect model errors (as the drive is reading as GB1000..... rather than ST31000....) running FDL468 or no action being taken with 'sf'. Is it even possible to make these drives workable outside of a HP system?
