  1. I believe I found a bug. I decided to test this on another machine I had lying around (Compaq Persario SR1920NX). After installing just the main updates with the program, Windows refuses to boot giving saying "VMM32.VXD is corrupted or cannot be found". A quick check shows that VMM32.vxd is present on the system. I am not positive, but It might have something to do with the 2.1 Ghz patch, the CPU on the computer is an AMD Athlon 64 3500+ / 2.2 GHz so its required to get Windows to install. Edit: Oh and Thanks JDS for the other information, sorry for the late thanks as I forgot I had asked that months ago. Edit 2: Whoops, copied the wrong CPU. Fixed that.
  2. I do have the Driver installed, the only thing is the Connection manager software refuses to run. Edit: But that's okay, I just dug out a really long Ethernet cord and connected via that. I'll just look for another wireless card that is compatible at a later time. Thanks to everyone for all your help! I'll finally be able to do some 98 Specific work.
  3. Wow that was fast! I wish I would have asked yesterday when I was having trouble with the Audio Drivers. Yes, that all worked! Infact now it does see my D-Link WNA-1330 card. One last question, would you know if there is software to manage Wireless Connections? The Wireless Driver works fine, but it has no way of knowing which network to connect to / way to type in a WPA2 key without D-Link's Software which won't run on Windows 98 (Something about a reference to SETUPAPI.dll missing WM_DISCONNECT_MACHINE). Thank you so much! It would have taken me days to figure this all out.
  4. Not that I'm aware of, but Everest can! This is what I got when I ran Everest: --PCI CARD-- Field Value Device Properties Driver Description PCI Card Hardware ID PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_24C6&SUBSYS_088C103C&REV_03,PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_24C6&SUBSYS_088C103C,PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_24C6&REV_03&CC_0703,PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_24C6&CC_070300,PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_24C6&CC_0703 PCI Device Intel 82801DB(M) ICH4(-M) - Modem Controller [B-1] Device Resources IRQ 00 Port 3400-34FF Port 3800-387F -- PCI SYSTEM PREIPHERAL -- Field Value Device Properties Driver Description PCI System Peripheral Hardware ID PCI\VEN_1217&DEV_7110&SUBSYS_088C103C&REV_00,PCI\VEN_1217&DEV_7110&SUBSYS_088C103C,PCI\VEN_1217&DEV_7110&REV_00&CC_0880,PCI\VEN_1217&DEV_7110&CC_088000,PCI\VEN_1217&DEV_7110&CC_0880 PCI Device O2Micro OZ711Mx MultiMediaBay Accelerator Device Resources IRQ 00 Memory 90200000-90200FFF -- PCI UNIVERSAL SERIAL BUS -- Field Value Device Properties Driver Description PCI Universal Serial Bus Hardware ID PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_24CD&SUBSYS_088C103C&REV_03,PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_24CD&SUBSYS_088C103C,PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_24CD&REV_03&CC_0C03,PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_24CD&CC_0C0320,PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_24CD&CC_0C03 PCI Device Intel 82801DB(M) ICH4(-M) - Enhanced USB2 Controller [B-1] Device Resources IRQ 00 Memory A0000000-A00003FF Hope this is what you needed.
  5. This is the first time I've ever dealt with PCMCIA, so I am not too sure what I was doing. A few months ago someone gave me a HP NC8000 Laptop, I figured since the hardware was compatible with Windows 98SE that I'd throw it on there since I need it for a few tasks, and just because 9x is awesome. My main issue is that I have a number of unknown devices as seen in This image. My first guess is that I have to solve these issues before I can even begin to use a PCMCIA card, but that is where I am stuck. I simply do not know what to look to get it operational, or if any of those unknown devices have anything to do with PCMCIA. Is anyone able to give me some guidance/help on what to do?
  6. Hi erpdude8, I really find this project useful. But I was wondering, since you were able to make ANSI versions of some of the dlls if you could add a few missing functions to Kernel.dll? Specifically CreateWaitableTimerA which fmodex.dll uses. I'm not sure if you are able to do that, but I thought I'd ask since I see you managed to add a few other dlls and ANSI versions of them. Thank you for the SP Project!
  7. Hi. I'm trying to help a friend of mine get Windows 98SE up and running on his HP DC7700. We are having a very hard time trying to get his Wireless Card, TP-LINK TL-WN350G (Atheros AR5007G), to install on Windows so he can connect to the internet. We've tried just about everything both he and I can think of. We've tried in Device Manager, we tried installing the INF directly, and I think he said he tried seeing if he could fix the INF, I do not know if that's possible, but I thought I should mention it just incase. So I have two questions: Does anyone have any experience with the Atheros AR5007G on Windows 98 SE, or has some steps we can try to see if we can get it to work. And #2: He said he heard that wdmstub allows the installation of 2000/XP drivers on 98, though he is not certain if it is true or how to even go about using it. Edit: Oops, I'm terribly sorry I just noticed that I posted this in Member projects instead of the normal forum. Can someone please move this? Once again, sorry about that.
