Just want to say thank you nuhi for a great tool. Lets us finally take control and beat Windows into submission. I hope that you continue to focus most of your energy into nLite rather than vLite (no offense Vista users). In the future, it be nice to see even more detailed removals (sub-removals?). I also think its important to work on more hardware removal, since alot of these are loaded on startup regardless of whether or not you have the hardware. Thanks alot nuhi.

I set it to 1000mhz in nLite. However, after install my G5 is only working at 500mhz even though it is capable of the 1000. Is it working for others? Maybe its not patched properly?

Do this in reverse and copy the files over from an unmodified source.

Not sure if this was posted before, but this might be a better way to implement the "Remove Shared Documents from My Computer" setting. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer] "NoSharedDocuments"=dword:00000001 I think thats a little cleaner than removing the namespace entry for it.

I was impatient and tried regedt32.exe. Everything seemed to import fine. I guess it doesn't matter then. Thx.

I've seen alot of stuff about how reg files won't import at t-12, using CMDLINES.TXT. I didn't realize until after I made my own tweaks that it wasnt working. However, I notice everywhere people are referring to "REGEDIT32.EXE". Looked normal to me, thats what I used too. Then I thought about it for a sec, and realized there is no regedit32.exe!! The only ones are regedit.exe and regedt32.exe. Which of these are the ones I should be using to import the tweaks? I'm thinking regedt32.exe just because it looks like the core of the reg edit prog.

If your using a controller card you need to install the drivers. If not, make sure that the drive on the end is set to master and the one in the middle is set to slave.

Yeah it'll still play. The only thing that changes is the extension and the os can't recognize it and launch the right program. But if you loaded your mp3.dat into winamp it would play. And if you loaded your winrar.dat into winrar it would open.

So given my situation: I want to format the entire drive as one partition and store only data with no operating systems or programs running from it. Would I want to partition that entire drive as an extended partition and then create another logical partition inside (also taking up the entire extended partition)? You said that a virus could wipe the first track 0 which would not harm the data but would kind of "hide" the partition, right? But if I was using a primary partition and track 0 was wiped, I would lose actual data instead of just the partition info? Norton PartitionMagic seems to suggest using logical partitions for data and other uses, and primary for just operating systems. I wasn't sure the basis behind that so I figured it may be more protected.

eek, well i definately wouldn't want something like that to happen. I guess that complicating the partition setup like that would make it more unreliable. Basically, I should go with a primary partition for the data, unless I'm using one of the older windows operating systems? Do other operating systems besides older windows have problems with multiple primaries?
