Running iexpress gives me errors: Can't find the report file and can't find a .cab file. My goal is to use iexpress to run multiple Windows Update files. I pulled a bunch of .exe's from Catalog website. I would like to install them in one go, such as how a service pack does it. MS's KBs don't inform me well on using iexpress. During the wizard, it looks for a script or something to execute the .exes. I don't know what to do there. This is why I wanted you to show me how you did it yourself.

The link is in another language, and Chrome can't translate it. I was looking to create a service pack exactly as Microsoft does it. Someone did it for W2K, and it's called the Unofficial Service Pack 5. I'm not familiar with iexpress. Can you give me more details?

I've been reading this thread, but it's highly unorganized and incomplete. From what I understand, you take a sfx-based update, delete everything after a certain line with a Hex editor. After that I'm stuck.

What's the current status of extending XP past 2014? I'm not talking about petitioning M$ because we all know that's a waste of time. I'm talking about the users' status on extending XP, like the Windows before. I noticed in the early posts that Windows POS may have compatible updates. Now to me that would seem reasonable, but why would MS allow that? I mean sure they aren't advertising it, but clearly people would notice. However, I guess we won't know until after the deadline (say something magically changes about the updates). And I've just been wondering why I'm not on Windows XP x64... now to find a copy.
