  1. A good search question: any modern office suites? I found Go-oo 3.12 installs OpenOffice 3.2 on Windows ME! Native docx compatibility!!
  2. I am quite curious, what is the merit of an IE-based browser in 2024? It wasn't the most efficient or optimized browser in its time. Are certain plugins supported on the browser?
  3. Hello, I am seeking a software to scan my PC of all images. Google Picasa does not preview newer image format, which is problematic. I need to scan my PC of scattered family images. I do not want them to be lost in the case of a failing hard drive. Thank you for your time
  4. It's 2024, and I'm surprised we don't really have a good idea of latest working media players for Windows 2000. I plan to check the following later: VLC 1.1.9 Haihaisoft Universal Player 1.5.8.0 - Does not work AllPlayer - I can't find an old version from 2011 - 2014 that's working; corrupted file MPlayer UMPlayer - Works, even plays wmv files SMPlayer PotPlayer ZoomPlayer 12.0 - Works, needs codecs for video GomPlayer MPC-HC - Only up to version 1.3 works, I think FullPlayer 6.3 - Does not work KMPlayer 3.4.0.59 (November 2012) - Works with errors...needs codecs for video... Total Video Player 1.31 - Works, but doesn't support WMV files SockPlayer 2.1.4 - Does not work MSPlayer - Works vso-media-player - ??? (File was corrupt) SPlayer HUPlayer 1.0.5.3 - Does not work Searching uptodown, softpedia, filehippio, and oldversion for media players. I found an MP4 player for NT 4.0, so nothing is impossible.
  5. Hello, I am wondering if I could setup a few old Windows XP laptops and an intel atom laptop for security and communication backups. I have found myself in various situations I did not immediately have my smartphone, so having programs like MySMS saved me a bit. Are there any desktop apps that serve a similar function for free on Windows XP?
  6. So far, I tried to contact a dozen sellers. No useful replies so far. I found this driver, but attempting to install it gives me a message that there are unauthorized bluetooth devices in the PC...disabling the drivers still refuses to install the driver. https://gist.github.com/peteristhegreat/b48da772167f86f43decbd34edbd0849?permalink_comment_id=4046100 Is there any hope? I haven't found a single instance of this driver working on Windows 7.
  7. That one is meant for Windows 2000. I found an unofficial one for Windows NT 4. Tested it and Carnivore worked!
  8. Hello MSFN, I am seeking a driver for the below device. Google has not been my friend here. I just want to use my dongles on Windows 7 is all. This generic model is known as "Br8041 Bluetooth 5." Most dongles are very short and are only labeled with a "V5.0" on them- they are lots of clones of this model. The hardware ID says this is a Cambridge Silicon CSR Bluetooth device.
  9. I tried this driver but the installer says Windows version is not supported...I need an interface for bluetooth to even function?
  10. None in particular at the moment. I was trying to use VLC 3.0 again but lost my dll files a few years back.
  11. This is a security patch, not the runtime? But I found the DirectX 6 patch anyway. Carnivores runs on Windows NT 4.0 with it!!
  12. Yes, I installed this codec pack and video does not work. However, I found an alternative player that got MP4 to play on NT 4 after trying at least 20 different media players. Now, I'm just trying to find the lost DirectX 6 patch for Windows NT 4.0.
  13. Is there an MP4 player available for Windows NT? I've tried looking around but haven't had much luck. Even the TCPMP player doesn't run on Windows NT SP6a. Installing klite 2.73 changed ZoomPlayer 8.0 to go from invalid codecs to internal errors. Not sure if this is the fault of ZoomPlayer or the codecs.
  14. NTDLL.dll, msvcrt.dll, msvcr90.dll, msvcp90.dll, and msvcm90.dll
  15. I have no idea where to post this. I tried using Windows 2000 DLL's from BWC's Extended Kernel (latest version). It seems to have broken my Windows ME installation. A literal error stating Windows can't load explorer.exe and requires a reinstall. Booting into safe mode works. Can confirm the msvcrt.dll file does not work.
