  1. Maybe it is more a problem of making it known. There are bigger communities for Windows customization like MSFN here, Wincustomize... If you would share what you have found out and request help, maybe some people will step up and play around with DWM code to achieve even more. Not talking about a competitive product to AeroGlass, maybe just concentrate on that acrylic effect for title bars? Why not give it a try?
  2. I did a complete reinstall of Glass8 after cleaning the registry. After that it looked like both issues were gone, however the issue with the white windows frame and memory leak on DWM still happens sporadically. I checked the logfile again and found this: [2016-11-30 22:03:23][0x1780:0xE18] Hook (USER32.dll!DrawTextW from udwm.dll) installed [2016-11-30 22:03:23][0x1780:0xE18] Hook (GDI32.dll!CreateBitmap from udwm.dll) installed [2016-11-30 22:03:23][0x1780:0xE18] Hook (GDI32.dll!CreateRoundRectRgn from udwm.dll) installed [2016-11-30 22:03:23][0x1780:0xE18] Aero Glass for Win8.1+ 1.5.1.724 x64 correctly loaded (C:\AeroGlass\DWMGlass.dll). If I log out and log in again, the white frame is gone after initialisation of the DWM. I am using a Geforce GTX 1070 graphics card in this computer. Latest driver installed.
  3. Unfortunately rolling back to win10 before the anniversary update is not an option. I have Games that need this update to work.
  4. Hello Bigmuscle and fellow Glass8 users! I run Windows 10 mit Glass8 on my Desktop PC, and since the anniversary update I have to randomly recurring problems with Glass8. 1. White window borders Normally, all is working fie, but on some windows starts I get white window borders instead of glassy ones. See attached screenshot. debug.log shows nothing out of the ordinary as far as I can tell. when this happens, DWM seems to run into some kind of memory leak as it grabs more and more RAM for itself. Normally it uses about 17-20MB, as you can see in the screenshot, I had already over 300MB allocated after maybe 15 minutes. I then restart windows and the issue is gone, glass is back and DWM runs normal. 2. Glass8 theme not applied This also happens randomly and more often than the first issue. According to the debug.log the standard theme (which I am using) is loaded, but the window border is just glass without a theme. I can either restart Windows or just apply the theme again using the GUI. Then the theme is loaded correctly. I tried the configure it using the GUI in admin mode, but that did not help. I also searched the registry with regedit related reg keys, as I have moved the install location. There was one key with the old path to the theme, which corresponded to a file not found error in the debug log where aerohost used the old path to the theme file. I have corrected this and the path is correct now, but the issue still randomly appears. Here it appeared directly after the reboot I did because of issue 1. Maybe someone has a clue or idea what could be the cause of this issues? I will gladly provide any information or logfile needed, just tell me what I have to do. Thanks! no_theme_debug.log white_windowframe_debug.zip
  5. I can confirm this. Just used the win8rp files from build 668 and everything is fine. Seems like the themeatlass in the RC zip file has a problem. Everything else works!
  6. Yes I do, here is the exact version number. 14393.222 Windows Update says that my Win10 ist up to date. Not using any developer versions or stuff, just the official Win10 build.
  7. I seem to have some problem with the standard theme after installing the RC. Aeroglass itself starts fine and I see no errors in the logfile. [2016-10-05 02:03:18][0x1EA8:0x15C4] Aero Glass for Win8.1+ 1.5.0.695 x64 correctly loaded (D:\Programme\AeroGlass\DWMGlass.dll). But if I open the GUI and chose the default theme, I get a completely broken theme as shown in the screenshot. I double checked all the files, but the theme ans themeatlass are exactly the files from the RC. Seems to work for others. So, any ideas what could be wrong on my machine? Any help or hints greatly appreciated. I ran the 669 prerelease before without any problems.
  8. Thanks for the guide, much appreciated! I did not use your XML. Still using my old donator key with the old machine code, no problems. The part for the registry editing was very helpful to get rid of the blue tint. Just enabled the scheduled task again which I had disabled before doing the anniversary update, symbols loaded and glass was back. Easy enough with the guide. Win10 just looks so much better to me with glass. Bigmuscle and the people here are my heroes for fixing Microsofts lack of visual taste. They got the look right one time with Vista/7, at last a unique and wideley loved windows GUI, but hey, lets drop that and make everything flat and boring and harder to use. We do not want to be confused with Apple for our good looking OS... I will never understand them.
  9. Hi fellow glass8 fans, Since the last update to version 45.0 my Mozilla Thunderbird just ignores the glass window frame as well as the button theme. See screenshot. With Thunderbird 44.0 and earlier there was no problem. I tried to force a transparent title bar by UserChrome.css (workaround for Firefox to enable glass effect) but it did not work. Just wondered if anyone knows a workaround or found a solution for this issue? I guess it has to be fixed within Thunderbird, not within glass8. I am even willing to switch to another mail program, as long as it can import from tbird and looks good with glass8 (If you have any suggestions?)
