  1. Yes. i have tried that driver. Update: And sometimes it just shuts down when i want to make restart. Then it does not start until i take off battery and make same things like i wrote earlier. I think i solved that problem. I turned volume on and hear beeping sound. Problem was memory or motherboard. I changed memory and above problem went away. If i remember right then i changed memory on that laptop before i stopped using that laptop for 3 months. Putted memory in, booted to bios and putted it to self. But explorer still hangs after welcome screen. Can the problem be that i installed xp with that incompatible memory and now xp (explorer) is corrupt? Sorry for bad english.
  2. Hello, i installed xp to ibm t30. Downloaded about 120 updates if i remember right, installed drivers, firefox. Im not 100% sure, but i think that problems started after video driver install. I have tested different t30 video drivers but problems are still same. Problems: If i turn laptop on, then it goes to welcome screen, then stays there about 30 sec, then comes empty blue screen. One way is to end explorer and start it up again in task manager and other way is to shut down computer from power button, then take out battery/charger and hold down power button about 15 sec then put battery and charger back and press power button and then laptop goes to desktop without freeze in welcome screen. But that is not all. If i make right click on my computer icon, select properties then nothing happens about 1 minute or more. I same time opened add/remove programs window and it was blank white. Then suddenly my computer properties window opened, add/remove programs window started populating items and in bottom right came notification that i dont have antivirus. I havent installed it yet, maybe it makes harder to solve this mess. I have made sfc /scannow with cd and windows worked ok until next restart. And sometimes it just shuts down when i want to make restart. Then it does not start until i take off battery and make same things like i wrote earlier. Before that mess i havent used that laptop about 3 months, and it had no OS installed. Before that i have used that laptop many years without problems and have installed same xp to it many many times. But i didnt find my old drivers so i downloaded those from internet. Are those symptoms driver related ? Sorry for bad english language.
  3. Hello and sorry for bad english language. I got d620 without os. I bought win10 retail becouse it is only retail package windows that is on sale. So i installed it and everything is working okay exept booting. Windows logo is on about 12 seconds, then comes black screen about 4 seconds and then welcome screen is on about 12 seconds. When i once tested win7 on that laptop, then logo screen was about 6 seconds, no black screen, welcome screen was 7 seconds. I looked the boot log and there are some dx errors: BOOTLOG_NOT_LOADED \SystemRoot\System32\drivers\dxgkrnl.sys Windows 10 automatically installed "best" driver. It has correct graphic chip name. I have tested other graphic drivers, but no help. I also made screenshots of my hdd smart info and other things. I read somewhere that those dx errors are becouse of "bad hdd" Dont know if this is true. http://i67.tinypic.com/2eg79zq.jpg http://i63.tinypic.com/2uhs9rk.jpg I have made screenshot of xperf summary.xml file. If i understand right then there are some 7seconds delay in sihost.exe. http://i67.tinypic.com/xksikg.jpg When i made xml file, then some strange errors came. What are these ? http://i68.tinypic.com/9jdpc0.jpg Process explorer info: http://i64.tinypic.com/t8aiqg.jpg If it is video driver problem, then it means that i can not do anything about it, becouse dell or microsoft have not made correct drivers anymore to that old video chip ? Thank You! ntbtlog.txt
  4. Thank You for very informative reply. It seems that here can be many problems together. I meanwhile tested the pc with 1-2 years old linux ubuntu live cd and got strange results: If i connect box with hdd to first port of usb3 card then blue light starts burning in box circuit board (i took a way plastic cover) right away and again same clicking noise. But if i connect it to second usb3 port then it takes about 10 seconds before blue light start burning and then i see laptop hdd on screen :)) But linux window moves in slow motion and after about 3 minutes linux freezes. (tested one time) Drivers in use with laptop hdd IN laptop came with win7. Do i make screenshot from some specific location?
  5. HDD is 100GB Seagate momentus 7200.1 + 5V 0.58A I just in case tested again, but still very fast clicking sound. Looks like the "hdd head" is going very fast from side to side inside hdd. I post drivers details later.
  6. I installed drivers by myself. If i remember right then i need 2 drivers to get it working. (Renesas Electronics drivers) In device manager everything is ok. If i put in my usb3 memory disk then it is working ok. Only problem is with that hdd. This is my only sata hdd at the moment, can not test other pata hdds with it. Maybe something to configure in bios? I now start to read that link You posted. Edit: No help from the link.
  7. Hello and sorry for bad english language. I bought pcie usb3 card (https://www.amazon.co.uk/PCIE-USB32-Digitalbox-USB-PCI-adapter/dp/B00BJI0FHA) and Icy box IB-223U3 enclosure. The idea was that i could make laptop hdd cloned images faster that through usb2. BUT... when i put laptop hdd to the icy box and connect box to usb3 card then i only hear fast clicking sound from the hdd. If i put box to usb2 port, then everything is ok. I have win7 32Bit updated. It is very strange problem.
