  1. Hey, I messed up my open commands with these three branches in the registry when testing out xyplorer. Will someone please help me restore them to the defaults? I don't have quick access to another machine to get these branches. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Directory\shell HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Drive\shell HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Folder\shell Thanks a lot , matthew edit: I managed to get these. Here they are incase anyone else wants: Directory: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Directory\shell] @="none" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Directory\shell\find] "SuppressionPolicy"=dword:00000080 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Directory\shell\find\command] @=hex(2):25,00,53,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,52,00,6f,00,6f,00,74,00,25,\ 00,5c,00,45,00,78,00,70,00,6c,00,6f,00,72,00,65,00,72,00,2e,00,65,00,78,00,\ 65,00,00,00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Directory\shell\find\ddeexec] @="[FindFolder(\"%l\", %I)]" "NoActivateHandler"="" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Directory\shell\find\ddeexec\application] @="Folders" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Directory\shell\find\ddeexec\topic] @="AppProperties" Drive: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Drive\shell] @="none" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Drive\shell\find] "SuppressionPolicy"=dword:00000080 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Drive\shell\find\command] @=hex(2):25,00,53,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,52,00,6f,00,6f,00,74,00,25,\ 00,5c,00,45,00,78,00,70,00,6c,00,6f,00,72,00,65,00,72,00,2e,00,65,00,78,00,\ 65,00,00,00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Drive\shell\find\ddeexec] @="[FindFolder(\"%l\", %I)]" "NoActivateHandler"="" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Drive\shell\find\ddeexec\application] @="Folders" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Drive\shell\find\ddeexec\topic] @="AppProperties" Folder: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Folder\shell] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Folder\shell\explore] "BrowserFlags"=dword:00000022 "ExplorerFlags"=dword:00000021 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Folder\shell\explore\command] @=hex(2):25,00,53,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,52,00,6f,00,6f,00,74,00,25,\ 00,5c,00,45,00,78,00,70,00,6c,00,6f,00,72,00,65,00,72,00,2e,00,65,00,78,00,\ 65,00,20,00,2f,00,65,00,2c,00,2f,00,69,00,64,00,6c,00,69,00,73,00,74,00,2c,\ 00,25,00,49,00,2c,00,25,00,4c,00,00,00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Folder\shell\explore\ddeexec] @="[ExploreFolder(\"%l\", %I, %S)]" "NoActivateHandler"="" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Folder\shell\explore\ddeexec\application] @="Folders" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Folder\shell\explore\ddeexec\ifexec] @="[]" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Folder\shell\explore\ddeexec\topic] @="AppProperties" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Folder\shell\open] "BrowserFlags"=dword:00000010 "ExplorerFlags"=dword:00000012 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Folder\shell\open\command] @=hex(2):25,00,53,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,52,00,6f,00,6f,00,74,00,25,\ 00,5c,00,45,00,78,00,70,00,6c,00,6f,00,72,00,65,00,72,00,2e,00,65,00,78,00,\ 65,00,20,00,2f,00,69,00,64,00,6c,00,69,00,73,00,74,00,2c,00,25,00,49,00,2c,\ 00,25,00,4c,00,00,00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Folder\shell\open\ddeexec] @="[ViewFolder(\"%l\", %I, %S)]" "NoActivateHandler"="" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Folder\shell\open\ddeexec\application] @="Folders" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Folder\shell\open\ddeexec\ifexec] @="[]" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Folder\shell\open\ddeexec\topic] @="AppProperties"
  2. That worked, thanks a lot I actually tried it and didn't think that it worked. I just went back to try it again, and I noticed that they were available for me to get the permissions back. Thanks a lot for your replies.
  3. How do I do that? I am logged in with the only admin user that I created when I reinstalled windows, and the box is grayed-out.
  4. Hey guys, I had this trojan that created itself along with an autorun.inf on all drives (and all usb removable drives that were inserted into my pc). I have one hard disk that is partitioned into c: and d: , and I formatted and reinstalled windows on c:\ thinking it would clear it up. Oddly enough, when I had winxp reloaded, d: still had the exe and autorun.inf there. So, it corrupted my windows install/process list when I viewed my d: drive. To get rid of it, I opened a dialog and checked the box to deny the writing of d: for the admins group and system. I left that open, and brought up the explorer window with d:\ showing the exe file and the autorun.inf file. I selected them both, deleted, and quickly hit apply on the permissions dialog box for d:\. So, the files didn't get recreated. I formatted c:, and reinstalled windows again, and now the two files and hidden process in windows is gone. The only problem is windows still has the denied permissions for writing to d:\ set (see img below). I was surprised that these permissions were still existing after a reinstall. Anyone have a solution for me? I believe the only thing remaining to do is restore my writing permissions for my admin&system groups. Thanks, Matthew K
  5. I would like an imageshack quick method on this too I use google.com/ig and have a widget for uploading the image to imageshack, but I still have to go through the steps of gathering the image's local path and use my web browser.
  6. Hello Any MP users here? MPlayer: http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/dload.html Screenshot: http://www.mplayerhq.hu/images/screenshots/WindowsXP-02.jpg Media Player Classic: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.p...ackage_id=84358 Screenshot: http://images.memoclic.com/gif/win/mpc_12.gif I've used media player classic (mpc) for quite a while now. I'm always looking for a change when there are new features but keeping the application slim. So, I'm wondering what experience you users have with MP vs MPC? Thanks for input Also, I would like to welcome skins and tweaks to improve the usability of either of these applications that any of you might be using. :
  7. Haha, the joke is new to me. I liked it, thanks
  8. Haha, that's good. Thanks
  9. Thanks for this man. I've read good things about Orbit when compared to Flashget. I may be switching over to Orbit with the rest.
  10. Is it possible to install from a partition to another partition using my unattended installation folder? Thanks in advance for more information on this.
  11. System error 1060 has occurred. The specified service does not exist as an installed service. Windows cannot find 'w32tm.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search. The time is off by hours etc. I am pretty sure that it is because of the DST change this year. And, the windows time service must be needed in order for the microsoft update to work? If anyone knows, I would like to be taught on this. Thank you
  12. Maybe that is a solution in 'some' cases that you've seen. But, my girlfriend has the same problem on her laptop. I had used my custom windows cd on her laptop as well. Does anyone have some other knowledge about this? I don't think both pc's are needing new batteries.
  13. Hello, My computer clock time is wrong everytime I reboot. I am currently using atomic clock sync program to fix it each time i reboot using my internet connection. This is very annoying though. I read it was due to the DST for 2007 changing. I installed the patch from microsoft, but I had removed my windows time service with nlite on this installation. So, I'm wondering is that needed in order for the patch to work? Here's the nlite posting: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=99367 Thanks
  14. Hello, I removed the windows time service from my installation, and now I am having issues with the time not being correct. I wonder if it's because I removed the windows time service and with the change in daylight savings time for the year 2007. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks Matthew K
  15. I edited the post with a better image url. Do I have to run a 3rd party program just to put the icon there? I would like it right after the 'up' icon as it is in the open/save dialog
