  2. If you realy wanna know whats up with your DC.. Run this tool from Microsoft, it creates a CAB file with a huge amount of logfiles that can show you what might be amiss! http://download.microsoft.com/download/b/b...SRPT_DirSvc.exe You can go thru the dcdiag.txt file to see what's the status of your domain.   5. If you take a system state backup you have all vital data from the active directory in one place.

  8. Okay, capture the traffic on the network using ethereal from www.ethereal.com You can filter the client IP in ethereal to see what's happening on the wire.. to see if it's a DNS Issue.   13. Yes it's possible. What you do is that you open up regedit on another computer. And on the registry menu chose Load Hive, and then load the problematic hive. From there you can access the registry key.
