  1. I recently installed an inexpensive multi card reader. It is a Alcor Micro AU9362 and plugs into the USB plug on the motherboard. I am running Windows XP Home SP2. When you start up windows I get an error message saying "Windows - No Disk" 'Please insert disk in drive'. It appears to be looking for a disk in the multi reader. I tried updating the driver but the latest one I could find is dated 4/12/2002 and does not make any difference. The reader still works and I have tested SD card and the USB with a mass storage stick. If you check the system device manager it says it is waiting for you to remove a card/disk. You can fool it by telling it to stop the device. It seems to hang with the hourglass but you can use the hourglass like a mouse pointer and close the windows. It then continues OK until you reboot again. In the BIOS I have told it to not look for boot devices after IDE-0 the floppy and the CD-ROM. Any ideas on how I can get rid of this annoying boot message?
