  1. unbelievable. i dont know if i just found out a trick but i just dragged and dropped an eml file into OE6 inbox window and it imported. easy!
  2. Hi, I had a corrupt installation of Vista that I managed to save the mail folder from Windows Vista Mail. I have reinstalled with XP and now want to import the messages into Outlook Express but they are in standard .eml format as opposed to .dbx format. Is there an easy way to convert these so I can import them? ta.
  3. since installing ie7b2 whenever i access my hotmail through outlook express i am constantly prompted with my login user id and password. any thoughts why this might be the case? thanks oops. sorry...just realised this question has already been asked below.
  4. it takes ages to open from scratch. sometimes you can see the webpage being constructed as it loads which i didnt like. i wanted to change the layout of the menus and bars which i can do in seconds on ie6 but it wasnt obvious how to do it in firefox. i have used ie since day one and just like the "feel"
  5. solved the outlook express problem. reassociated htm and html files with ie and also ticked "check if ie is default browser" in ie6 options my specific problem with ie6 is this; i download using newsgroups. i use www.newzbin.com to give me an nzb file but i have always just selected open before and it loads into grabit. now i have to save it and then run the nzb file to get grabit to batch the file.
  6. i tried firefox and opera recently. didnt like them so uninstalled and went back to IE6. this may contribute to my problem as outlined below. since then i have noticed that i cannot lauch a webpage link from within an email and i noticed that when i try to open or run a download from ie6 as opposed to "save to location" first then an error occurs as though the temporary internet files folder is missing or has a problem. to try and correct I have right clicked on the ie.enf in windows\inf and selected install i have closed ZAP and symantecAV I have used purgeIE I have moved location of temp internet files within tools>options of IE6 Any help appreciated. 10. REG ADD %KEY%\015 /VE /D "Kazza Lite K-plus-plus 2.43" /f REG ADD %KEY%\015 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\install\klitekpp243e.exe /VERYSILENT /SP-" /f REG ADD %KEY%\015 /V 2 /D "REGEDIT /S %systemdrive%\install\kazaa.reg" /f kazaa.reg consists of the exported HKCU/software/kazaa and HKLM/software/kazaa registry files from your current installation
  11. i normally just burn the user accounts off to cd b4 letting my unattended disk do its work. sometimes there isnt a cdrw or i dont have a spare disk knocking around so i was hoping for a quick and easy way of retaining the necessary files. also if i lend the disk to one of my mates it means they can install without having to backup their files or really any computer knowledge.
  12. i have ran a quick search and cant find any info if this has been discussed before. my install disk currently formats the main disk automatically and it occurred to me it would be handy if rather than formatting the disk it deleted all files except the c:\docs and settings\(user accounts) so that the bookmarks, desktop icons, address book, outlook express messages etc could be easily imported back into the new user account. any ideas how to implement this?
  13. Try this; REG ADD %KEY%\003 /VE /D "Directory Opus 8" /f REG ADD %KEY%\003 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\install\Applications\DirOpus\Setup.exe -s %systemdrive%\install\Applications\DirOpus\setup.iss" /f
  14. i think what Xous is asking ..... can he export registry settings from a pc with offfice already installed onto his new unattended winxp installation and also copy over the office directory from c:\program files\microsoft office and probably the start menu grouping so that he doesnt need to install office the conventional unattended way. i dont know the answer but would be interested if registry keys would work
