  1. Sounds like some excellent new features! I'll get back to you once I have a chance to test them out!
  2. Excellent job! Everything seems to work great now, all the little niggles have gone... am currently testing the option to give the user control of the filename, but to be honest the filename doesn't really matter if it's gonna get burned to CD after being made anyway?? Just my personal opinion... Anyway, congrats again on the nice work, version 2 is only a few days away I'm sure
  3. Wow looks like I missed a lot in the 2 days I was away! I'll download Beta7 now and get back to you
  4. @ATM... not entierly true what you wrote about saving to a directory - I can save ISO images to my desktop (therefore having "Documents and Settings" as part of the path), and the program works fine. Also, it is possible to reference other files which are not in the DOS 8.3 format, such as "Programs\Dreamweaver8.msi".
  5. OK I'm back! Happy to say multiple run commands work great @ AMD... I don't have the same problem you did... when I created the ISO file it worked fine... maybe check something in your code? The DOS box staying open would suggest something happening with CDImage that it didn't expect... my DOS window closed upon the ISO being finished. Back to what I found... the box saying "Cannot record the ISO file since it has not been created!" still pops up at the end of ISO creation, I think that'll be easy to fix tho In case this is any help, this is what happens - when the bootable CD is being made (successfully I might add), in the window behind the DOS window (ie. the Autorun menu), the info box with the message above pops up straight away... from the debug I got this: MKISO (ERROR): IMAGE NOT CREATED... as the line after MKISO (ACTION): STARTING COMMAND LINE: >>>>>>> SOFTWARE\CDImage\CDIMAGE.EXE -lOEMXPHOME -t08/23/2001,09:00:00 -b"SOFTWARE\CDImage\OEMHome.BIF" -h -n -o -m "SETUP\HomeOEM" "C:\OEMXPHOME.ISO" Hope this is of some help to you Looks like you're almost ready to release version 2, congratulations!
  6. I'm with AMD on the fact that the "Cannot record the ISO file since it has not been created!" pops up at the end, regardless of what else happens... think that might be an easy to fix bug? Also, is there a way to change the parameters passed to CDIMAGE? For example, I would like to add the "-j1" option (and maybe get rid of the time option)... I couldn't find the MKISO in the HTML or Javascript, so I'm guessing it's encoded in the AUTORUN.EXE itself... although if that's a pain the the bum to change, and the ISO it produces works ok (I haven't burnt one to CD and tested it yet) then that's ok! Apart from that, everything else is working OK for me! Gonna test multiple run commands now, will let you know what I find
  7. That's something I hadn't really considered before, thanks for the suggestion!
  8. Works without the dll now, thanks very much Will continue to experiment and get back to you!!
  9. @ amd64 - debug mode opens a little window beneath the menu with debug info, showing you what's going on when you click things. Useful for noticing if you've typed something wrong etc. To start, run your Autorun like this: Autorun.exe -debug Hope that helps.
  10. Is the License data valid only for the machine the product was installed on? (eg. I install DW8 on computer A and get the license file, integrate it into the uA DVD... install on computer B... will the license file still work?)
  11. Hiya, downloaded the file again, I get the following when I run the Autorun without "bass.dll" present: "This application had failed to start because bass.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." Any ideas? Thanks again!
  12. OK, good news is that running MSI files directly does work... bad news is, when that MSI has a dependency (usually a DATA1.CAB file), it gives the following Windows Installer Error: "This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package" When I double click the same MSI file in windows explorer, it runs fine. My guess would be something to do with the setting for the current directory reported to Windows Installer - perhaps it's getting changed to something else after the MSI is called? EDIT: I did some investigation, and found that if the MSI has dependencies, they can't be found because the path contains an invalid character - the "/" used in the HTML to point to where the MSI is. This prevents the correct directory from being set. Is there any way to get around this? *2nd EDIT* fixed with "\\" in place of "/" Also, is the "bass.dll" required even if music playing isn't required? I have the "BassEngine=Off" entry in my menu.ini, but the Autorun won't seem to function without it. Any way to remove the dependency on the "Bass.DLL" file? I don't (and won't in the future) have a need for it Thanks
  13. Awesome stuff, will have a play around and get back to you!
  14. Excellent I look forward to the new version! Did you manage to implement the multiple "run" feature?
  15. So if I download Autorunv2, don't activate PHP and use custom HTML files, I should be able to use command switches and run MSI packages?
  16. OK, so does this mean I'll have to download the new one and modify that one to suit my needs? Or is there a way to fix the first one to allow command line switches and execution of MSI packages?
  17. It's not a letdown dude! Are you working exclusively on the PHP versin now? Or are you still updating version one as well? (the Javascript/HTML one)
  18. Ah **** it Most annoying lol... thanks for your suggestions anyway! Much appreciated.
  19. OK, this is driving me nuts. I've searched on the forum and have found some posts about it, but none really cover what I want. Here's what I need to do with the SFX: 1) Before extracting, merge a REG file into the registry 2) After extracting, run the setup file. Part 2 works fine. Part 1 is driving me mad. Here's the code for my SFX: ;The comment below contains SFX script commands Setup=Setup.exe /NOREBOOT Presetup=%WINDIR%\RegEdit.exe /S Regfile.reg TempMode Silent=1 Overwrite=1 The REG file I want to import is on the CD, located within a few dirs - %DVD%\Software\Program\regfile.reg The WinRAR help doesn't really assist much on this, because it doesn't describe what the current directory is in a way that makes sense to me When I call the PreSetup command in this example, where is it looking for the Regfile? Is it: the current directory OR the temporary folder for extraction OR some random default folder OR the %WINDIR% folder (as that's where the regedit program is) ??? Finally, is there some way of telling the PreSetup command to look on the CD for the regfile? (I can specify the folder, but the actual drive letter for the DVD-ROM might be different on different machines, hence a variable would be nice)... something like this: PreSetup=%WINDIR%\RegEdit.exe /S %CDROM%\Software\Program\Regfile.reg This is the 2nd to last problem I have on my DVD, so any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!!
  20. Hi, totally different reply to what most people are asking, mainly cos I don't need the make ISO function... I'm still using Version 1 of the program, cos it fits my needs perfectly... The problems I seem to be having are running MSI files directly, and passing switches to programs (eg. Nero VisionExpress): stm_aix("p3i2","p1i0",[0,"Macromedia Shockwave 10.1", "","",1,1,0,"run:SOFTWARE/Macromedia/Shockwave10.msi"],365,0); The above has no effect when I click the menu entry - all other executables I have run fine. The problem with switches is like this: stm_aix("p3i7","p1i0",[0,"Nero Vision Express v3.1.0.21","","",-1,1,0, "run:SOFTWARE/Nero/VisionExpress/Setupx.exe /SN=*removed* /WRITE_SN /NOREBOOT"],365,0); That doesn't seem to work either. Calling the EXE without switches works fine. I'm thinking a simplish remedy might be to used a batch file (call the batch file with the command from the menu)... but that's kinda ugly, so was wondering if there's another solution? Great work on the app by the way
  21. Thanks cluberti, I'll try that out and let you know what happens! EDIT: didn't work thanks for the suggestion tho!
  22. Think the title and subtitle kind of explain my problem - I want to integrate the 3 apps onto the DVD, but I don't want them silently installed. What I want instead is just the serial number to be remembered so that when the program is *optionally* installed, I can still pick which associations and path I want, but the serial will automatically be entered and hence I don't have to worry about activation. I've thought of a couple of methods to do this, but none seem to quite work: 1) Edit MSI directly using ORCA... I input the serial into the Control Table, under "CustomerInformation", "SerialNumber". Tried with serial having dashes included, and also without, still came up with activation screen asking me to input code. 2) RAR SFX with appropriate license files expanded to "all users\application data" etc... this is kind of cumbersome for what I want - the software is going to be installed from a 1 click menu, which is only capable of running one associated command per menu entry. For example, if I click to install DW8, only the DW8 msi is run, with no option to call a RAR SFX after, and I don't particularly want to create 3 SFX's for the license data for each app. 3) [Not tested]... I was thinking of some method where the install MSI for DW/FW/Flash is called, and the corresponding license data copied over after the install has finished. This way I get to select all the options I want, and not have to worry about the activation screen come up when I run the program. But, as said in (2) above, I can't call 2 programs from the 1 menu entry. I'm unsure as to whether a RAR SFX could call the MSI prior to extracting it's contents to the "All Users" dir. eg: *Click menu entry to install DW8* -> RAR calls DW8 MSI and has me select all options -> when install is finished, RAR SFX silently copies license data to appropriate location. If there's any way anyone can think of that I can have the program remember the serial, but still ask me where to install and what associations I want, please feel free to suggest! Thanks in advance
