  1. No it all depends on which PC I am using. it varies between PCs as to which are visible. If I put in the path on another app that I have, I can access see and have access to any of my PCs fro any of the other PCs
  2. I am using private network and the setting for Function Discovery is set as shown in the link but still have same issue
  3. The 3 PC (all running Win 10 ver 1809) are on same network. One of the PCs is hard wired and the other 2 on wifi
  4. I miss spoke. the wifi is not a router, it is a WLan device as you indicated. I am not using any hotspot or ad hoc. It is a simple PC trying to connect to a Verizon Fios Quantum G1100 router
  5. also, for more info. When I do connect and it works for a while and stops sometimes I can use the network trouble shooter and it resets the network adapter and works again for a while. Other times when it stops working the device manager under properties says that no driver is installed but when I click on the tab for driver info it shows the driver information. It also seems that I have better luck (not any where near a solution) when the tablet is connect to power but I see no setting to not turn off wifi when on battery.
  6. The Asus 2-1 tablet (running Win 10) info is: Part_no. 90NB0748-M03650 Model_Name T100HA-C4-GR Color Gray Metal Touch Touch Screen LCD 10.1" IPS WXGA (1280x800), glossy CPU Intel Quad-Core Cherry Trail x5-Z8500 1.44GHz (Turbo up to 2.24GHz) MB Chipset N/A Memory 4GB LPDDR3 (1600MHz) on board VGA Intel HD HDD 64GB SSD ODD No Optical Drive Secondary_ODD OS Windows 10 (64bit) WLAN 802.11 abgn Webcam 2MP Front & 5MP Rear Bluetooth Bluetooth 4.0 Keyboard Keyboard Dock I/O Ports 1x Headphone-out & Audio-in Combo Jack; 1x micro HDMI; 1x USB 2.0 [Dock]; 1x Type C (gen 1); 1x Micro USB2.0 Card Reader SDXC Battery 30WHrs, 1S2P, 2-cell Li-ion Polymer Battery Pack up to 14 hours Removable Battery The wireless router is Broadcom 802.11 abgn Wireless SDIO Adapter Also, for your info I have the same problem on both 2.4 ghz and 5.0 ghz
  7. I have several devices connected to my FIOS internet (100 up\down). All of the devices except 1 connect and stay connected with no problem using wifi (one of the device is a PC running Win 10). I have a Win 10 tablet from Asus (small 10 " screen) which sometimes connects to the internet but then will disconnect maybe 5 minutes later sometime and sometimes 30 minutes sometimes it just wont connect. I have tried using it is as static and and also as dynamic IP but still same problem. Asus has had the PC back for repair several times and even replaced the motherboard (which includes the wifi adapter) but problem still exists. The driver is up to date and I have uninstalled and reinstalled more times than I can count. The strange part is that I do not seem to have the problem when I take the PC traveling, only in my house. The PC is about 10 feet from the router and signal strength is very good (my other PC also 10 feet from router never loses wifi connection. Does anyone have suggestions?
  8. I have 3 PCs on my network all running Win 10. On 2 of the PCs when I use Windows File Explorer and click on Network it shows the 3 PCs but on 1 of the PC it shows only itself and 1 other PC but not the third PC. The third PC is on the same WIFI network as the other 2 and some of the folders are shared. I would appreciate suggestions to get the third PC to show in File Explorer
  9. I have Outlook 2016 installed on 2 Win 10 PCs. The first one is a 15" notebook and when I am looking at my email folders there is a line which shows on the extreme right "Current Mailbox" and to the left of that "Search current Mailbox" and then to its left "Mentions" and to its left "Unread" and to its left "all". On my 11" 2 in 1 the same line shows "Current Mailbox" and to the left of that "Search current Mailbox" and then to its left "All (as a drop down menu)" and to its left "Inbox". I would like the 11" to show it the way the 15" does except that I would also prefer that the "Inbox" (or what folder I am in show up).
  10. I have 5 pop accounts and 1 exchange account on my Win 10 PC running Outlook 2013 and all email was working fine. I also have another Win 10 PC running Outlook 2007 and have the same 5 POP accounts on it. I was receiving email on both PCs with no problem the way you would expect with POP accounts. I recently added the Exchange Server account to the second PC. The second PC made the data file for the exchange account as the default but I wanted to POP account PST file to be the default so I changed the default database. When I changed the default data file there was a pop up that said I would only be able to receive email in that PC but I said okay anyway. Ever since then I can only receive email on the PC that checks for the email first. I then deleted the exchange account, created a new profile, recreated each of the email accounts (except the exchange account which I left off the PC) and I still only receive the email on which ever PC checks for the email first. The POP account all have "Save on Server" checked Please help me.
  11. Yes, I did. I have just resolved the issue by leaving the HomeGroup and then joining the same HomeGroup. So some internal setting must have gone wrong when the upgrade to Win 10 occurred.
  12. Since my wife's PC was upgraded to Win 10 I get a pop up (see attached) when I try to access her PC on my local network. My other PCs do not prompt with the entering logon information and I can access them without getting any pop up. All of my PCs are in the same HomeGroup and I have checked the settings and have it "Allow Windows to manage homegroup Connections (recommended)" selected and I have "turn off password protected sharing" selected. If I enter the logon information I can access her PC with no problem and I can continually access the PC without reentering the logon information until I reboot my PC. The one strange thing that I notice is that on my wife's PC is if I go to Control Panel>Credential Manager>WindowsCredentials that they are never updating like they do on my other PCs. I would appreciate your help to resolve this issue
  13. I have a problem with 2 PC which are networked. I try to ping my PC which has a fixed ip of 192.168.1.135 and I get an error message. The screen below shows the results when I had NO firewall installed on my pc (running Win 8.1). The other PC (running Win 7) also has a fixed IP 192.168.1.149 and I cannot ping it from my PC or from itself in command prompt. My PCs are networked and I have no problem using my file manager to see each PC from the other PC. I would appreciate any help or suggestions
  14. I am using Paperport 14 but had same problem in Paperport 12. When I scan a paper using PP the document properties are sometimes puzzling. When everything is right and I look at the properties scanned document (in PDF format) in the security tab it will show a user name of "everyone" and anyone has full control. Other times I seemingly do the exact same thing and the properties of the scanned documet (again PDF) do not in the user name "everyone". This is all on the same machine (XP Pro). The reason this is trouble some is that I have the machine networked and without the "everyone" I can not copy or move the file from the original PC to another PC. Anyone have suggestions on how I can have "everyone" as the default every time?
  15. Thanks for the response. I have not tried Windows 7 so I was not aware of the 32 bit and 64 bit versions
