  1. When I use that link you gave or the following link h**p//www.google.com/talk I still get a popup that says link contains no data. Any thoughts, does someone already have the file they can zip and email me? Thanks....just wanted to try it out...
  2. I think the link may be bad, but when I try to download Google Talk from Google's website, I am seeing a dead link. Has anyone else had any better luck? Thanks.
  3. Done that, as soon as the new shortcuts are dragged on to the desktop, they fail. Target and startin are both correct. Don't know what to do...
  4. Hello folks...long time no post. I have a problem. When a user tries to run an application either via network or locally, when they click on the Desktop shortcut, they receive the following error "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item" However, when the user navigates to the actual program executible, the program launches normally. It's like, all the desktop shortcuts give this error, but if the user navigates to the program directly, be it network based or on the local machine, the programs run. Any thoughts???
  5. Does anyone know of any application that will yield a firmware log/print out of my machine? I want to compare 2 virtually identical laptops, however they were delivered a few months apart and 1 set has a problem. I am trying to find out if the newer and problem free laptops have had a firmware upgrade or even a driver upgrade before delivery. (Would sandra or something like this give me what I want?) Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks.
  6. Use the following dos command while in that folder "attrib -h", this unhide the file. Then delete the folder, that will delete the sub folders as well.
  7. Quick observation: I have been watching/using this board for over 2 years now and I feel that I must point out a disturbing trend. Lately, it seems that the most common responses are: Read the Forum rules, or Search for it in the forums, or Google it here ....ALL to be done prior to asking. I thought this board was created to help others, not belittle their search methods or lack thereof. Yes, several of the people that are here are bug-eyed geeks that sit behind their computers all day, but the fact of the matter is that most of the people that are asking for help, or searching for it are not. This should be taken in to account when replying. If for nothing else it's rude and arrogant....and will not attract people to this board. /stepping off soapbox.
  8. quick question: have you tried some serious online gaming with that set....wondering if there would be/is any noticeable lag.....

  13. I have a shared Lexmark X75 attached to a local computer. It is shared over a large network. A problem has arisen after previously running without any issues. The print jobs stall after spooling 72K to the printer. The message states that the printer is waiting for the USB port. The printer is attached to one of eight ports on the back of the PC. It's a newer PC (Dell) running W2K. There are no errors in device manager. I have installed the most current W2K drivers for this printer, as well as the patch provided by Lexmark for W2K. I have tried looking all over for this error and could not find any info, emailed off to Lexmark support and haven't received anything but there canned "message received" email. Anyone ever seen this before? Thanks.
