  1. you are not getting the point here ScubaSteve ... i'm not talking about accessing the contents of the cd,i'm talking about totally something else.... I don't want anybody to be able to copy the cd (make a copy) of my cd you are so true...but I'm not going to expose or distribute my project to the world but my friends sure will monitor and test what I'm creating .... I just don't want them to make copies of what I'm giving them to test...does that make a sense? any idea?
  2. can you assisst me with a name or a link if you don't mind i couldn't find any...i think i suck when it comes to Google search specially when tons of links get listed!
  3. What are the best software to do a copy-protection to your CD or DVD? like making sure that no body can copy your CD or DVD unless they enter a code or any other method like data loss ...etc i found these but there are not really intended to do what i'm talking about: ArtisCD SDProtector Pro any experience? thanx Edit: Topic title edited. Please try and select a better title next time!
  4. That makes a sense ... I'll see what i can do thanx anyway.. hay i've just noticed my first junior star for the 50 post anniversary
  5. hi Yzöwl: I appreciate your caring to help in this matter … ok if we assume that most people will use C:\ as their defaults then how could we manage those keys I've just pointed out? will I have tried the installer many times and in different machines, it's working totally great I was able to manage this key for the add-on's to be: "KEEP"="C:\\Documents and Settings\\All Users\\Application Data\\Webroot\\Washer" It worked like a charm, and I was wondering if there is something that we could do to get the path of TEMP, RECENT, HISTORY, COOKIES, CACHE assign to other users? Are you referring here like if I use %username% i.e. : C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\History Would have it to work for the new user? thanx,
  6. Hi all First of all I would like to thank each one of you for the great support and knowledge you guys delivered in the forum … Today I've finished integrating my last program #60 into my unattended cd which is window washer 6.0.2.466 retail version, therefore I have decided to share it with whom ever interesting to have it … just pm me and I'll email it to you as soon as I get to your pm. No need for auto-it script or a switch or anything else it's a fully silent installer, created using InstallRite , but I have a small question about the registry to make it functions just the way it should. That's what I found in one of the entries: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Webroot\Window Washer\Paths] "WINDOWS"="C:\\WINDOWS" "SHARED"="C:\\Program Files\\Common Files\\Webroot Shared" "COOKIES"="C:\\Documents and Settings\\SHARAF\\Cookies" "CACHE"="C:\\Documents and Settings\\SHARAF\\Local Settings\\Temporary Internet Files" "HISTORY"="C:\\Documents and Settings\\SHARAF\\Local Settings\\History" "RECENT"="C:\\Documents and Settings\\SHARAF\\Recent" "TEMP"="C:\\DOCUME~1\\SHARAF\\LOCALS~1\\Temp" "AIM"="" "AOL"="" "ICQ"="" "MSN"="C:\\Program Files\\Messenger" "YHO"="" "FOX"="" "INSTALL"="C:\\Program Files\\Webroot\\Washer" "KEEP"="C:\\Documents and Settings\\SHARAF\\Application Data\\Webroot\\Washer" In these entries you can realize that's SHARAF is the account name created know, and most of these keys are aiming to SHARAF's Documents and Settings , WILL SO, THAT MEANS I HAVE TO CREATE AN ACCOUNT CALLED SHARAF DURING MY UNATTENDED INSTALLATION TO ASSIGN THESE ENTRIES TO IT. So how can I make these entries works for any user created during the unattended installation not just SHARAF? I tried using %AllUsersProfile% but didn't work i.e. : "CACHE"="%AllUsersProfile% \\Local Settings\\Temporary Internet Files" .... any idea?
  7. i have solved the problem by a small program that i had to write, to force the refresh rate to change along with my batch........case closed for TD and spazmire11 thanx alot i appreciate your trying to help indeed. and special thanx to the other hundreds great helpers who had given me a great support with my post...that's saved me alot of time and source ... isn't that's right? shame
  8. which method that would install the pnp drivers on the earliest time possible like "text-mode"? is there any way to install vga drivers before the first boot and the billboard ? can someone enlighten me of which method or way of integrating drivers would install drivers on earliest time? i need to know that for this: link thanx
  9. STILL Urging for a solution any idea? clue? Discussion? anything? or no body care about billboard resolution?
  10. 11. @spazmire11 Hi there , but how i'm gonna be able to use my billboard then ... i'ts to change the whole process to a classic style so whats the point? in my normal installation xplode will starts in T-9 and i need the resolution to change before that time not after,,, maybe if there is a way to install the vga driver before the first boot and then i place the batch at the start of T-39....can i do that? or is there a way for that? my driver is Gforce 6800GT
  12. Hi TD I appreciate your respond indeed: Well I used WinntbbuED.exe to build my billboard for the flexibility and the ease it provides, so I don't think that I would need to do anything with the size of the wallpaper because the original resolution of the wallpaper is already 1024x768, and it should resize automatically with the screen ....that's why I'm going insane I don't know if I should just deal with 640x480 and redesign my xplode to fit there or wait for some nice smart buddy to help help
  13. Hi everyone I apologize if this posted before I mean I have searched for 9 days using every possible search method with no luck or straight forward clue of how to solve this, and now I'm on the verge of going insane trying to solve this problem for weeks. Look at the screenshot and feed me back if you know how to make the billboard picture resize to 1024x768 or to 800x600 regardless of the stage the batch will kick in. I have succeeded of integrating my drivers using method 2, and also went great with nlite RC7 … but still I get the same result "the screen respond to the batch but the billboard remains at the ugliest resolution in the world 640x480". The code I'm using @echo off 1365VidChng.exe 800X600X32@1 -q 1365VidChng.exe 800X600X32@85 -q 1365VidChng.exe 800X600X32@70 -q 1365VidChng.exe 800X600X32@60 -q 1365VidChng.exe 1024X768X32@1 -q 1365VidChng.exe 1024X768X32@85 -q 1365VidChng.exe 1024X768X32@70 -q 1365VidChng.exe 1024X768X32@60 -q EXIT Have you ever succeeded doing the billboard working on higher resolution in real PC OR Virtual Machine is it possible or do I have to redesign my billboard down to 640x480 to fit ok with xplode, because I'm using xplode to integrate 50 software. remember the batch is kicking but the billboard is so stubborn.....help thanx
  14. Hi there I'm trying to use the Vista light pack in this link : http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...26&hl=First-Run but I don't see any clear instruction of how to deal with this package using nlite, files included in the package are: -vtp.sif -Vista Transformation Pack - Lite 3.0.exe I know both of them has to be in the same folder, but ...what next? B) thanks...
  15. It's already in the data bese and becouse the application goes throught too many processes the second stage they do that kind of search already all over the world to make sure it hasn't been copied or stolen then it goes to the stage of testing for reliabilty of work then the stage of puplication and finally they will release you the certificate...
  16. Thanx for your confidence on me I'll do my best...and to roll in the good news I'll be receiving my patent certificate next week from Britain (The U.K. Patent Office)about an invention I submit to give any pc the best speed it can ever be gained, and that's by treating the heat issue with a new concept and simple technology but for now it's a secret till next weak.
  17. It won't be a problem with an open-minded person as yourself Just in case you can also have the chance of having both Raid0 and Raid1 for safety and speed together its called Raid 0+1 but then you need at least 4 drivers but with this setting you well be really fixed some other guys like to do a Raid5 which you have to do it's setup through the windows but with any way you do it, you will see a huge difference… let me know if I can assist you more when you need to ,,, heeh i'm a flight engineer but one of my hobbis is to assisst people building this kind of PC's ….. and yes we all need more time in life to learn so much stuff before we shrink in the gound
  18. Come on girl you missing a lot here start learning about Raid as soon as you can ,because we are talking about some real pc hot speed, imagine that you have more than ten time the speed of your present PC .. add to that when you have 3.8gHZ OVER-CLOCKED to 4.2ghz CPU check this: RAID-0 RAID Level 0 is not redundant, hence does not truly fit the "RAID" acronym. In level 0, data is split across drives, resulting in higher data throughput. Since no redundant information is stored, performance is very good, but the failure of any disk in the array results in data loss. This level is commonly referred to as striping. RAID-1 RAID Level 1 provides redundancy by writing all data to two or more drives. The performance of a level 1 array tends to be faster on reads and slower on writes compared to a single drive, but if either drive fails, no data is lost. This is a good entry-level redundant system, since only two drives are required; however, since one drive is used to store a duplicate of the data, the cost per megabyte is high. This level is commonly referred to as mirroring. RAID-2 RAID Level 2, which uses Hamming error correction codes, is intended for use with drives which do not have built-in error detection. All SCSI drives support built-in error detection, so this level is of little use when using SCSI drives. RAID-3 RAID Level 3 stripes data at a byte level across several drives, with parity stored on one drive. It is otherwise similar to level 4. Byte-level striping requires hardware support for efficient use. RAID-4 RAID Level 4 stripes data at a block level across several drives, with parity stored on one drive. The parity information allows recovery from the failure of any single drive. The performance of a level 4 array is very good for reads (the same as level 0). Writes, however, require that parity data be updated each time. This slows small random writes, in particular, though large writes or sequential writes are fairly fast. Because only one drive in the array stores redundant data, the cost per megabyte of a level 4 array can be fairly low. RAID-5 RAID Level 5 is similar to level 4, but distributes parity among the drives. This can speed small writes in multiprocessing systems, since the parity disk does not become a bottleneck. Because parity data must be skipped on each drive during reads, however, the performance for reads tends to be considerably lower than a level 4 array. The cost per megabyte is the same as for level 4. Summary: o RAID-0 is the fastest and most efficient array type but offers no fault-tolerance. o RAID-1 is the array of choice for performance-critical, fault-tolerant environments. In addition, RAID-1 is the only choice for fault-tolerance if no more than two drives are desired. o RAID-2 is seldom used today since ECC is embedded in almost all modern disk drives. o RAID-3 can be used in data intensive or single-user environments which access long sequential records to speed up data transfer. However, RAID-3 does not allow multiple I/O operations to be overlapped and requires synchronized-spindle drives in order to avoid performance degradation with short records. o RAID-4 offers no advantages over RAID-5 and does not support multiple simultaneous write operations. o RAID-5 is the best choice in multi-user environments which are not write performance sensitive. However, at least three, and more typically five drives are required for RAID-5 arrays. it may cost a little more cash here dependant on your setting but wow it's another world B)
  19. hahahaha I found the problem shame on me .... it's funny when you forget where you put your sunglasses last.. and after along frustrating search here they are in your face ...well my problem solved after I moved the flabby from the drive...I needed it to boot with F6 Intel Sata-Raid driver.. I hate the setting but will comparing to the speed I'm geeting yes It's OK, I got four 74G Raptors on raid0, two for the system with intel chipset, and the other two on Silicon-Image for the database..
  20. cheer I did checked that already it's not that hard to do, the only bad factor is the small tools here are about 300mb so forget it i'll wait untill my download is over.....
  21. Ok in the mean time I'm trying to use Microsoft Virtual PC... well with the first ISO it went fine but when I tried to edit that for a seconded ISO it wont do it I keep getting this error: CLUES??
  22. Thanx Jonathan I got your memos and I assume you got mine ... but here what would be the deffrence between the two.. I mean look 25mb and the other 84mb .. i don't get it would they do the same job? Warm greeting, Nabeel B)
