  1. Cluberti, Thanks once again. I will run those commands as soon as the end user returns from vacation in January. I will post the dmp files back here as soon as I gather them. Thanks for all your help. Happy Holidays Speak to you next year, Erick
  2. Cluberti, Thank you for the quick response. This might sound like a dumb question, but how do I create a dump record. I checked the folder where dmp files are normally saved and it was empty. Thanks, Erick
  3. Good morning and Happy Holidays to all, I have a small issue with Winword 2007 and Adobe Acrobat, I have one enduser (The Owner) that when he is connected to any network and tries to open an Office Word attachment Word hangs at the Office 2007 Splash screen and will never open or close. You have to click on top of the splash screen in order for Windows Vista responds with the message Program not responding andit gives you three options you can perform. I have changed the default printer to a non-networked printer, I have run all the Vista and Office updates. While going through the Event Viewer I ran across plenty of error id that were generated by Word. The event ID's I am receiving are: Event ID: 1002 and 7002. If someone can please shed some light on this problem. Thank you in advance, Erick
  4. You can set a local policy object that points to your WSUS server. The only thing is it needs to be able to do is resolve the name (dns, wins, local hosts file) and connect on whatever http port wsus is running on.
  5. Cluberti, I tried your suggestion and I am able to map to it but when I try to access it, it does not allow me access. How can I open the mapped drive using admin creds? I have tried right clicking on the the mapped drive to see if there was a "run as" but there is not. Any ideas? Thanks in advance Erick B
  6. Cluberti Thank you for your fast response I am going to give that a shot. I don't have a problem with mapping to the drive if I need to, at least now I know only admins can get to that IT share. Thanks once again. Erick B
  7. Good afternoon to all, I would like to know how I can restrict users from accessing our IT folder, but still have administrators access it when we are working from the end users computer. Thenk you in advance for any help. Erick B
  8. Good afternoon, I am trying to deploy Office 2007 via group policy and I am running into a wall. I have gone to the Microsoft web site and I have done everything they have instructed me to do. I configured the config.xml file and I try to deploy it and it does not get installed. Can someone please help me with this issue. Here is a copy of my config.xml file <Configuration Product="ProPlus"> <Display Level="full" CompletionNotice="yes" SuppressModal="no" AcceptEula="no" /> <Logging Type="standard" Path="%temp%" Template="Microsoft Office Professional Plus Setup(*).txt" /> <PIDKEY Value="xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx" /> <USERNAME Value="user" /> <COMPANYNAME Value="Company name" /> <INSTALLLOCATION Value="%programfiles%\Microsoft Office" /> <LIS CACHEACTION="CacheOnly" /> <SOURCELIST Value="\\server name\Office Professional 2007" /> <DistributionPoint Location="\\server name\Office Professional 2007" /> <OptionState Id="PubPrimary" State="absent" Children="force" /> <Setting Id="Reboot" Value="IfNeeded" /> <Command Path="%SystemRoot%\windows32\MsiExec.exe" Args="/x {90120409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9}" QuietArg="/q" ChainPosition="before" Execute="Uninstall" /> <Command Path="%SystemRoot%\windows32\MsiExec.exe" Args="/i \\server name\Office Professional 2007 \ProPlus.WW\ProPlusWW.msi" QuietArg="/q" ChainPosition="after" Execute="install" /> </Configuration>
  9. Good afternoon to all, I am having a tricky issue with the owners laptop, he sends emails from his AOL account to the coporate email. He says that he receives it on his Blackberry but not his Outlook on his laptop. He is able to send it to me from his AOL email account and I receive it using my business email account. I have checked the rules within his Outlook, also checked his junk mail settings. I also checked our email filters to check if it was being blocked. Everything is ok nothing is blocking that email address. If anybody can shine some light on this matter I would really appreciate it. Thanks, Erick
  10. I have a end user that is our recruiter and she is complaning that she is not receiving all the emails she is supposed to receive. The problem that I run into is I do not want to continue adding more email address in the spam filter to be allowed into our Exchange server. Is there a way I can create a dummy account or give special rights to our recruiter's email address?
  11. Hello again my fellow MSFN'ers, I have a an office in Broward which is part of our domain, we recently changed the users from administrsator of the local machine, to power users to prevent them from installing programs that are not part of the IT standard. In doing that I have had some users complaining that Outlook was not allowing them to archive. Does Power User have the right to archive. Can someone please guide me in the right direction? Thank you Erck B
  12. Cluberti thank you for help it was great. I upgraded the support packs for the servers and rebboted. I then checked the event viewers and all the warning messages had stopped. Thank you once again. Erick Bouza
  13. I constantly receive this warning message in the event viewer (Application View) Error reading log event record. Handle specified is 749600. Return code from Readeventlog is 87. Has anybody received this warning message that can guide me in resolving this problem? Thanks, Erick B
