  2. Hello everyone who still uses Windows 8.1, I have seen that the app still "works", unsurprisingly. It's pretty weird that I can use or add my location and "see" the weather (not really). The data however, is just sample data (from London, United Kingdom). Mine's (Valenii de Munte, Romania). It's just an example, you know that. Everything, including Weather Maps, World Weather etc. (except Places) is rendering useless, Literally none of them are working (except Places). Here are the stuff that's needed to be fixed: Forecast, Weater Maps, World Weather etc. Here are the stuff that's needed to be removed or replaced: Ski Resorts (may/may not be replaced with News). With that done out of the way, Let's team up with people and to fix this Weather app (for Windows 8.1, as an APPX file). Thank You. Here's how it looks (as an image): Date: August 10 2023.
  3. Anyone knows which are the system files (DLLs or EXEs) that are used to render the fonts and unicode-related things from Windows 8.1? Because those might have some functions inside that also render the Segoe UI Emoji font colored, and I want to apply that on Windows 7 or earlier operating systems. But if I just install the Segoe UI Emoji ttf file obtained from Windows 10 or 11, the emojis are only colored inside Firefox, but are black and white outside Firefox!
  4. Hello everyone, I have decided that I wanted to downgrade to Windows 8.1 and everything is working pretty fine, except a couple drivers. They won’t run/install because they state that they need to be running Windows 10, but as far as I’m aware, isn’t the way drivers work nearly the same? What should I do to trick the drivers into thinking I’m on Windows 10 so that they install? I would try just using drivers for Windows 8.1, but the Intel 7560 Wireless card doesn’t seem to have drivers for it. Help is greatly appreciated.
  5. Hey everyone. Is it possible to use Windows8.1 on ryzen 3000? Did anyone tried it? Someone told me that with windows 7 drivers its possible but i don't have ryzen system to test it on
  6. Microsoft relesed preview builds from the Microsoft Edge Canary channel available on Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1. This rounds out the initial set of platforms that Microsoft began to roll out back in April, so developers and users alike can try out the next version of Microsoft Edge on every major desktop platform. Microsoft Edge preview builds for Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1
  7. Purchased a Dell laptop over a year ago. It came with Windows 8.1, but as I use Linux/Kubuntu, I wiped the disk and did a fresh install of Kubuntu. Later on, I purchased, from Dell, the Windows 8.1 , and my understanding is that this OS is OEM. Now I need to use Windows for data logs. Am contemplating using Oracle VM Virtual Box ( see https://www.virtualbox.org/ ). Then Windows 8.1 can run from with the VM, with Kubuntu as the host. This would be the ONLY computer where Windows 8.1 is installed. Can I legally use the Windows 8.1 in a VM environment ?
  8. September Update has left Windows 8.1 users unable to sign into their Microsoft Account: https://mspoweruser.com/september-update-left-windows-8-1-users-unable-sign-microsoft-account/ Besides this, for me, it has broken DISM and SFC. DISM reports now that the Component Store is corrupted and /ScanHealth /RestoreHealth do not work. I hope Microsoft Windows gets irrelevant and more unpopular and that gets the satanic management fired. I am so sick of updates screwing up working systems. We desperately need new leadership at Microsoft that does not have a mental illness about pushing new features at the cost of breaking things that came before it.
  9. Hi. I'm using Windows 8.1 with a custom Windows 7 theme. I use small taskbar + small icons + small start orb + custom clock so that the style looks almost like the big one but in a small version. 1.) What I want to do next is reduce the size of the desktop icons even more. They're already on "small"...but I want them to be about 20% smaller. 2.) And then how do I reduce the size of the start menu (classic shell) by like 20% as well? Thanks.
  10. Hey, 1.) How much RAM can the above mentioned Windows OS see and use? Considering it's going to be 64-bit. 2.) Is the latest DirectX supported in this OS? 3.) Are all of the apps removed? - That's the main reason I'd be going for this embedded operating system because I hate apps and basically all the unwanted and unnecessary features and processes. 4.) Does this OS have any major disadvantages compared to 'Windows 8.1 Professional x64'? (In terms of gaming, browsing, doing casual stuff such as playing back high bit-rate or resolution videos like 4k vids or sound quality, etc) Thanks!
  11. You can download a 7/8.1/10 ISO from Microsoft using this tool: http://www.msfn.org/2016/09/25/microsoft-windows-office-iso-download-tool-4-00/ Later you can add all required files/folders to make that ISO or USB good for all OEM brands using the tool Project Only - No Query Tool [29.70 MB] from the links in this page: http://pasted.co/de1acca8 read text files inside the download, it is pretty clear. Source: https://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/71555-Multi-OEM-Retail-Project-Continued NOTE: This is only good for OEM machines, this DO NOT activate the OS unless there is the required Slic or Serial in your Bios (from OEM manufacturer), so make sure you download the proper OS, for your machine, you can download Query Tool Only [109.82 KB] in advance to check wich OS is good for your equipment. Some AV claim this one is malware but IT IS NOT, false positive. alacran
  12. Because of the UI and UX awfulness of Windows 8/8.1 and Windows 10, there have been many people who stayed on Windows 7. I hate stock Windows 8/8.1 very much but after intensive modification by third party apps, especially Classic Shell and others, it becomes somewhat acceptable. So I began comparing it to Windows 7 to evaluate if there were any actual improvements too that were worth upgrading to Windows 8.1. Windows 10 is still extremely awful to the point where it no longer remains an enjoyable experience for long due to forced updates, size of updates being hidden and Microsoft resetting what you have carefully set up every few months. Nevertheless, Windows after Windows 7 did have some improvements on the hardware experience side. I am trying to make such a list. I already moved to Windows 8.1 with Classic Shell and a dozen other third party apps to fix the awful software experience. On the hardware and software side, Windows 8.1 has the following benefits for me over Windows 7: - Windows Search in Windows 8.1 has the ability to include removable drives/folders on removable drives in the Search index/or in a Library and have them indexed! - Windows 8 introduces a new Solid Windows setup image format that uses LZMS compression. The resulting image install.esd is much smaller than install.wim - Memory Combining reduces the footprint of processes in the working environment - USB 3.0 support. Even though Windows 7 PCs do have USB 3.0 drivers, Windows 8.1 supports USB Attached SCSI protocol which makes UASP flash drives much faster than USB 3.0 on Windows 7. UASP with USB 3.0 is a significant speed boost over USB 2.0 while still maintaining compatibility with USB 2.0 devices. - USB Video Class 1.5 means your UVC webcam will work with inbox drivers and use H.264 compression (if your webcam supports it). 8.1 also supports 1080p60 webcams (60 fps), with Windows 7 and earlier, you're limited to 30 fps and USB 2.0. - USB Type C connector with KB3103696 - Bluetooth Low Energy (LE)/Bluetooth SMART support means I can use devices like Bluetooth wireless mouse which supports the Bluetooth 4.0 LE standard or LE headsets. The batteries in these devices last for a long time. I began to use a Bluetooth 4 wireless mouse with 8.1 on my laptop and its single AA battery lasted one full year! Now that's amazing! This is something that was unexpected - a touch-centric OS like Windows 8/8.1 actually improving my MOUSE experience in Windows!! - 802.11ac. With a fast 802.11ac router, 2 PCs with PCIe/NVM Express SSDs, you get amazing WiFi speeds. (OK, after doing some testing on Windows 7, it turns out, as long as you have the right drivers installed under Windows 7 and an 802.11ac router, you will get the same faster than N speeds as Windows 8 on 7 as well. It's only that Windows 7 continues to report your radio as 802.11n.) - Offloaded Data Transfers for file copying - More WMI classes and PowerShell cmdlets - Miracast wireless streaming to a display which 8.1 supports (although you could also use Windows 7 with Intel WiDi or buy a Chromecast dongle). But Miracast in 8.1 lets you not only mirror your display wirelessly to the second display but also extend your desktop to it. Like a wireless multiple monitors solution! - Windows 8.1 supports external manifests for application executables ("PreferExternalManifest"=dword:00000001) without any side effects of Windows 7 like the Network icon breaking. This is important if you are using a High resolution/High DPI display because Microsoft f***ed up DPI scaling with Windows 7. I wrote an article "How to fix apps that look small on high DPI and high resolution displays" but the modications in it requires the PreferExternalManifest Registry key to be set which works correctly only on Windows 8.1, not on 7). - The DPI scaling engine in Windows 8.1 loads much earlier than Windows 7 so apps which load at startup are scaled properly - Windows 8.1 has better WinSxS cleanup using Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase - Besides the good old SFC /scannow, Windows 8.1 has the ability to repair the Component Store itself using: Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth. Also its servicing stack is self-healing, it recovers from component corruption vs 7's stack which requires fixes from Windows Update like running CheckSUR - Chkdsk Spotfix ability - Client Hyper-V (although I was a fan of Virtual PC too, but VirtualBox is a good replacement for Virtual PC, except for running legacy Windows OSes) - Most issues on the software side were resolved for me by using third party apps - Classic Shell, 7+ Taskbar Tweaker, Classic Task Manager, Equalizer APO, Google Chrome, Everything Search, PerigeeCopy, OldNewExplorer, FileSearchEX, VistaSwitcher, Media Player Classic - Home Cinema, and reinstating Sidebar Gadgets, Classic Games, classic MSConfig, various tray applet fixes, ERUNT, AutoHotkey, EasyBCD, UxStyle plus this theme, WindowsFirewallControl etc - All the Metro crap uninstalled, default programs set to Win32 apps, Group Policies to disable crap like OneDrive, Bing Search and Customer Experience Improvement Program, it is OK. - DOZENS of Registry fixes to make it work like the way I want - more like Windows XP Professional and Windows 7 so Windows 8.1 is now a pleasant and stable experience!! - Media Center is missing but I got a new LG TV which has far better DVR recording features using modern compression and takes the load off the PC. If you don't have another piece of hardware that does DVR and home theatre, try Kodi. It is in my opinion superior to Media Center in many ways. - Aero Glass project is there if you miss Aero. Personally I don't miss Aero's transparencies any more. I prefer this theme instead with makes the taskbar's active button of the foreground (focused) window very clear and easy to understand. From a usability perspective, I find the Windows 8 theme is uglier compared to Windows 7 but the visual cues are better. For example, it is easier to tell the active window due to the use of solid colors in the title bar compared to transparencies. The baby blue selection color in context menus is also more visible in the Windows 8 theme vs Windows 7. - Classic Shell can completely skin its Start menu and the taskbar in any OS on Windows 7, 8.1 or 10 so the taskbar appearance too is fixable. - Windows 8.1 has great performance as a virtualized guest OS due to DWM compositing being hardware accelerated/Advanced Rasterization Platform vs Windows 7 in a VM (even with WDDM drivers). Windows 10 is again horribly slow in a VM due to excessive use of managed code/.NET in the Explorer shell. Windows 10 has the following benefits over Windows 8.1: - RemoteFX vGPU in Client Hyper-V (although VirtualBox is faster, more useful for me) - Windows Spotlight (although the Lockscreen Slideshow of 8.1 is just as good) - Miracast receiving ability in Anniversary Update and later (but an app called MirrorOp does the same for earlier versions of Windows) - DLNA Streaming of YouTube and other web videos to DLNA compatible TVs using Microsoft Edge and Windows Media Player (I haven't been able to find any decent 3rd party app to DLNA stream to TVs that works as well as Windows 10's built-in streaming). But in Windows 10, mostly I find cheap gimmicky features like Cortana and more of the silly Metro stuff forced on us! We have a broken updating mechanism now that abuses your internet bandwidth, changes things on your PC however it wants, whenever it wants, downloads unwanted crap from the Store, shows annoying nags. Action Center is just one more headache to manage and clear all the notifications after reading them. Lots of stuff happening behind the scenes which I cannot control. Even if I can control updates somewhat by setting my Wifi to metered, I have no idea how big they are, what exactly are they going to change because many of the changes are undocumented, and so many of my customized tweaks get reset. Updates take a hell lot of time to download and install compared to the little value they add. This is a complete deal-breaker. And then the UI which is still a disaster. For me, Windows 10 is a very strong case of negatives overwhelmingly outweighing any positives. Given the extremely intrusive nature of Windows 10, it is not suitable for serious use on a business/enterprise class PC. I can think of no good reason to use it for now. Windows 8/8.1 on the other hand whose childish UI and Metro silliness killed it has now evolved because great hardware is available and the f***ED up software side is fixed by third party apps. Do you have any good reasons on the hardware side to "upgrade" to Windows 10? The software changes in Windows 10 are already AWFUL with silly features like Store, Cortana, ugly and silly Metro/UWP apps, totally crap visual style and graphics, slow bloated .NET code in the shell, Windows Update nonsense, Telemetry crap, Tablet mode/Touch UI infecting more parts of Windows destroying the mouse/keyboard usability, GarbEdge being worse than IE. Discuss. UPDATE: Update size is also a big factor affecting my experience due to slow internet. It has ballooned tremendously for Windows 8.1 (updates are up to 100 MB or more) compared to Windows 7 (less than 50 MB). Don't even ask about Windows 10 where monthly updates are 500 MB to several GBs!!!!. I cannot download such huge updates every month just to keep Windows secure, simply do not have the bandwidth. Windows 10 is out of the question forever.
  13. 'Sup! I'm starting a new topic because I believe there will be many people like me who have downloaded the Windows 8.1 Update 1, and happened to have its login screen broken with the annoying message of "Your DWM is not compatible with aero glass", making your Windows installation unusable. Also, I don't know the "proper" way of uninstalling Aero Glass. Before installing Windows 8.1 Update 1 I really don't know if there are any registry tricks involved. I did install the Aero Glass using the installer. As I didn't find anything on "Programs and Features", I decided to erase the Aero Glass folder. This didn't work. Fortunately, I was able too boot normally again by renaming "DWMGlass.dll" to "DWMGlass.dll.bak" in the C:\Windows directory. I believe this file can be deleted (I didn't do it because I didn't know what would happen if I did). I don't know if this "Uninstalls" the program, but I now have my Update 1 installation up and running. If you have a broken Windows 8.1 Update 1 installation because you didn't remove Aero Glass Launch Safe Mode. This is kind of tricky because Windows loads normally to the login screen. The problem is that you're stuck with the buzzing message of "Your DWM is not compatible with aero glass" and you can't do a thing. So either try pressing F8 repeatedly when you see the BIOS, or the logo of your computer, so you can access recovery mode OR try forcing shut down when the Loading circles appear at the boot screen. Select "Safe Mode". Your computer will boot normally. Then, go to "This PC", Click Local Disk C (Or whatever your Windows installation is) and go to the "Windows" folder, in there search for "DWMGlass.dll", either rename it or delete it. Then boot again. See, if anyone is actually reading this post before upgrading to Update 1, hope this helps
  14. Windows could not parse or process unattend answer file (c:windows\panther\unattend.xml). Error message during setup is the error I am getting. I am not using MDT, WS or anything fancy for deployment just Windows 8.1 x64 Pro DVD media, WinPE for Windows 8.1 and the Windows 8.1 ADK. I am using the Windows 8.1 WADK/Windows Kits for Windows 8.1 for Image Manager for creating my answer file, using deployment/imaging tool for creating and editing my images, and using the same Windows 8.1 DVD media for my catalog as in my WIM. I have done the best research I'm able to do at the moment and for this issue it all comes back to removing/editing the "IEWelcomeMsg" line. I have left at false and removed the line as all have mentioned, however I'm still getting the error "windows setup: windows could not parse or process unattend answer file (c:windows\panther\unattend.xml). A component or setting specified in the answer file does not exist". Is there something I missed? From what I can tell for now, nope. Side bar: when creating an image for Windows 7 and i had IE10 installed, I would get the error, same steps taken as mentioned above by posts in forums, nothing worked/buckus/nada, except uninstalling IE10. Windows 8.1 comes with at least IE10, so to work around that???? Is there an update causing this? When I create an image, its fully updated for the time. Once again many hours wasted and very frustrated, and I have a roll out coming up soon. Any help to enlighten what might have been over looked would be beneficial.
  15. Working with Windows 8.1 and using a USB Verizon 4G LTE Modem as a Windows Broadband device on a mobile asset, and when signal is very low for a period of time the modem will "disconnect" from the VZ network and will not auto connect once the signal gets stronger. The end users are finding this to be inconvenient for them that the modem doesn't auto connect. I'd rather have them keep their eyes on the road then checking the connection. I have researched this on the Verizon site and the internet for answers to remedy this, without success. Is there a registry key or a setting that I might be over looking that will cause the connection to keep trying until it connects? To write a script for the Windows Broadband to check the connection state, signal strength, and reestablish connection that will run under a non-admin account would be great, but to be honest I don't know where to begin to make script for that, found no examples during my search. Does anyone have any ideas, suggestion? Jon

  18. Easy and detailed instructions. This is better than those Automated Apps like WinReducer and Win Toolkit which usually are buggy. Here you Right click the batch file and choose to run as Admin and then go have coffee. It's that easy. Attached photo is the folder structure to what we will create. This guide will slipstream all updates and clean up the image and convert the image to and from ESD<--->WIM Prepare and Slipstream Updates In to a Windows 8.1 .wim or .esd Image (Including Update 1) What you need: install.wim image file from the Windows installation media. If it is an install.esd image file then you can read the instructions on page 3 of this guide to convert it to an install.wim image file or create a Virtual Machine to do it (See page 4). Your install.wim or install.esd file is in the “Sources” folder which is found in the Windows Installation Media.2 batch files called update.bat and udate1.bat (Batch Commands are on this page)Windows updates downloader: http://www.windowsupdatesdownloader.com/ProgramFiles.aspxYour main computer that you will perform this task on should be Windows 8.1. You will need to Install Windows ADK for Windows 8.1 which is found here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn247001.aspx. Attached picture is the folder structure. Don’t modify the file or folder names with the exception of the main folder, which can be named to whatever you want. Skip to step 4 when completed. The Batch files will already be created. OneDrive address: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=FF876747A444836D%2115004 To manually create the folder structure you need to make a folder and name it to whatever you like. Open that folder and create another folder and name it: patches If you need to convert install.esd to install.wim you will need to unzip the “Tools U Need” zip file and copy and paste the ESDtoWIM folder and its contents to the folder you created. It should also be outside the patches folder. Make 2 blank text files and name each file update.bat and update1.bat. Now copy and paste the text for each batch file command from page 1 into the corresponding file. Update.bat is for the 40+ updates and update1.bat is for update 1. Place these to batch files outside the patches folder. Copy your install.wim file to the folder that was created, which will be outside the patches folder, “NOT” in the patches folder. If the original file was a .esd file then see my instructions to convert the install.esd to install.wim.. Now all you need is the updates that you will download from the “Windows Update Downloader”. Download the update list from this page: http://www.windowsupdatesdownloader.com/UpdateLists.aspx (It’s a small file). Once finished downloading you need to Double Click it to add the list to the Windows Updates Downloader. Start the Windows Update Downloader, choose the operating system update list In the Windows updates Downloader, and then choose the Security Updates, Non-Security Updates and both versions of .Net Framework. Updates in the Optional folder won’t work. Start the download. All updates MUST be in the .msu format. Once the updates are downloaded, you need to copy and paste all the updates in to the “patches” folder. Make sure that you only copy the updates to the patches folder. In other words, there should be NO folders inside the patches folder. Only .msu (update) files can be in the patches folder. You can delete the ESDtoWIM folder if you are not going to use the command line tool to convert install.esd to install.wim. Now, the Structure of the folder you are working in should have only 5 items: An ”ESDtoWIM” folder, a “patches folder”, update.bat file, update1.bat file and an “install.wim” file. All .msu updates should be in the patches folder. Now Right click the update.bat file and choose to run as Administrator. Once it installs all the updates it will ask you to hit any key. Hit any key until is shows all the updates and continues. You will have to hit any key many times until it begins the last phase. Once it is finish, you can repeat step 7 through 9 but use the update1.bat file for the Windows 8.1 update 1 .msu files (There are 6 needed downloading). Once everything is finished then you can replace the old install.wim file in the Windows install media with the new one. Again, if the original was an install.esd file then it needs to be converted first to install.wim file.File Conversion Instructions (Page 3) Convert install.esd to install.wim From the “Tools U Need” folder which can be downloaded here: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=FF876747A444836D%2115004, find and open the ESDtoWIM folder Right click the file named ESD2WIM.cmd and choose “Run As Administrator” Copy and paste (or type) the complete path location of the install.esd file. Example: C:\Work Folder\install.esd Press the enter key and wait for the process to finish. The location of the install.wim file will be in the “C” drive when the process finishes. C:\install.wim Continue with step 4 on the instructions page (Page 2).Convert install.wim to install.esd If the original file was an install.esd file then you will need to convert the install.wim file back to an install.esd file. Before we begin, make sure there is no file in C:\ called install.esd. In other words delete any file in this exact path C:\install.esd Copy the install.wim file to the C:\ directory. Example: C:\install.wim Click “Start” and do a search by typing: cmd Look for a file called cmd.exe in the search results. Right click cmd.exe and choose to “Run as Administrator” A black box will open. In the black box, Copy and paste the command in step 6 below and then hit the enter key. dism /Export-Image /SourceImageFile:"C:\install.wim" /SourceIndex:1 /DestinationImageFile:"C:\install.esd" /Compress:recovery It will take a very long time and a lot of processing during the conversion. So have patients. When it’s finished you will find the file called install.esd at this location C:\install.esd JJJCongratulationsJJJ You have completed the process of slipstreaming Windows updates and update 1 in to Windows 8.1 Install media. J Good luck J Installing Windows 8.1 to a VHD and using imageX to capture back the image as install.wim (Page 4) If you prefer not to use the command to convert the install.esd file to an install.wim file then you can create a virtual machine and install windows 8.1 in to it and then capture the VHD image back to an install.wim file. Here is how you do it. What you need: Windows 8.1 ISO, DVD or USB stick made bootable with Windows 8.1Microsoft Hyper-V (included as an add-on in Windows 8.1 Pro) or Virtual BoxFor Windows 8.0 serial key users: These generic keys will allow the correct version of Windows 8.1 to be installed. This will log you in automatically as the Administrator and start the SysPrep process. In the SysPrep preparation tool, make sure you choose “Enter system out of box experience”, and then check the box that says “Generalize”. The next drop-down menu: choose “Shutdown”. Click OK and the Virtual machine will shut down when finished. Now locate where the Virtual Disk that has Windows 8.1 installed on it. Mount that drive and give it a drive letter Make sure you installed ImageX which comes with the Windows ADK for Windows 8.1 Click the Start button and type cmd for command prompt. In the search results choose “Deployment and Imaging Tools Environment”. A command black box will open. Type the following: imagex /compress maximum /capture F:\ C:\install.wim "Windows 8.1 Pro" (F is the drive letter you gave the virtual drive when you mounted it, change it to whatever it is) Hit Enter and wait for it to finish. Look in the C drive where you copied the virtual drive and you will also see the install.wim file. This is the file you need to inject all those updates in to. You can now delete the Virtual drive and the ESD file.
  19. We know the bug in Windows 8.1 in certain dialogues (When delete a file/folder, copy…) Exploring a bit I discovered that deleting all icons size 256x256px in imageres.dll (and replace it) the bug go away. But it is exhausting eliminate about 300 icons for any app/soft. Any interested in investigating this error and solved? Another way to fix it's set the display/screen size (dpi) to 200% (maximum) , but it 's all a bit bigger in sight. * Sorry for my english.
  20. I've just installed SIB+ on my PC running windows 8.1 but it isn't showing "Recent Documents" when I press the start key - it just shows "Documents". I had SIB on my previous PC and it automatically showed Recent Documents in the listing. How can I add it on? Any help appreciated as that is a brilliant feature! Thanks, Gill

  23. Nuhi suggested that any further discussion of the new tool should take place here on the vLite forums, for now, so here goes. I have a suggestion for the name of the new tool. nLite was such a success, I think the new tool should retain the nLite name in some form. My suggestion is nLiteX, pronounced En Light Ex. It keeps the familiarity with nLite, avoids the problem of adding 7, 8, or numbers beyond that to the name. It also implies a new, expanded nLite with new capabilities, and ensures that the tool won't need to be renamed for future versions of Windows.
  24. Hello all I've got a little problem with Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 8.1 since the august security update for IE : I can't use RemoteApp in the Remote Web Access ! I have to make a .rdp file for all users and it's very anoying... Why I can't use RemoteApp ? The Remote Desktop ActiveX is enable. When I login the Remote Web Access, I have all my RemoteApp software but if I click on it, they do nothing, like a dead link..... My server run Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise with SP1. The Remote Web Access work with Windows 8.0 and 7 but no on 8.1... So my queston is : what I can do to use RemoteApp without removing updates ? Maybe a tweak or somethings to overcome that ?
  25. Hello, since I install the Update 1 on my Windows 8.1 PCs, I have a bug with mouse with all of them wich have dual screen. If I move my mouse normaly (not fast) to go to an other screen, it is blocked on the border of the screen where it was (and don't go to other screen). To go to an other screen, I must move the mouse very fast and it's very anoying. The problem appears when I open one Modern UI app. If, after boot, I don't open any Modern UI app, I don't have this bug but If I open one, the bug appears and it still present even if I close all Modern UI apps. I have 3 PCs with dual screen, all have this bug and this bug isn't present on Windows 8.0 and 8.1 without Update 1. So my question is : what I can do to remove it ? This is really a bug or a "feature" ? I can't work correctly with this ! I have spent lots of time on the net to search how to fix it but I found nothing.... On all of this PCs, I only have put OldNewExplorer, Big Muscle aero glass mod and Classic shell but this problem appears also with a clean Windows 8.1 Update 1 install if I use more than 1 screen... Cheers.
