Move the HFSLIP folder to C:\HFSLIP and run HFSLIP again. Does that help?

I can't see a reason why this should help but: Did you try the latest beta release as well?

It may be that the IE7 installer and/or the IE7 hotfix(es) are corrupt. Can you download them again?

Also, I advise you do a run without WINNT.SIF.

Alright. Can both of you give me a WUx.TXT file?

Here are the instructions.

Tried redownloading IE7 and IE7 hotfix's and also tried without WINNT... same outcome..

Will try gathering a WUx.txt file.

@Glowy

Is Windows Update asking you to install KB933566 or is HFNETCHK? It appears to me that MS didn't implement support for IE7 in the XML file yet because KB933566 for IE7 does not contain browseui.dll at all. Windows Update usually does a better check than that. Your WU1.TXT file actually tells me your system is fine.

@zedox

Now that's weird. If I have to believe WU1.TXT, pretty much everything failed to slipstream. Do you have an $OEM$ folder with a bunch of files? Do you have enough hard disk space? Also try the latest test release.

No $OEM$ Folder.

Tried latest release.

And I have GB's of space!

Note... I only have a few exe's in my HF folder... i'm just trying to sort IE7 slipstreaming and updates out before bringing in all the updates...
Should add though that even with every update Windows updates needs being slipstreamed using HFSLIP windows updates still asks for KB933566!

That explains the amount of warnings in WU1.TXT but it makes it difficult for me to locate the problem. Do you mind running HFSLIP with all hotfixes and then making a WU*.TXT file for that?

WU tells me to install it.
when I put the update in HFSVCPACK_SW1 it doesn't

Same for msxml6 but you already mentioned that here but putting it in HFSVCPACK_SW1 doesn't help there

Ok, I've attached my HFSLIP.log so you can see exactly what i'm slipstreaming...
Also attached a new WU1.txt file based on this install.

Cheers

I haven't checked all your updates, but WindowsMedia6-KB925398-x64-ENU.exe sticks out like a sore thumb. You should probably remove it and place the correct 32 bit OS version in there.

oooo... hmmm, will remove that.

This might help you... The control panel internet options is still the ie 6 version.

Also noticed from my WU1.txt file that one of the hotfixes missing is one that fixes TCPIP...KB922819.

Will try adding these hotfixes to see if it fixes KB933566.

The main source of the problem is most surely this:

IE7-KB929969-WindowsXP-x86-enu.exe
WindowsXP-KB929969-x86-ENU.exe

I've checked your entire list and it seems to me you haven't taken care of it much. If any obsolete hotfixes required workarounds they may fail now as workarounds are gradually removed from HFSLIP.

Superseded:
WindowsXP-KB885835-x86-ENU.exe
WindowsXP-KB890046-x86-ENU.exe
WindowsXP-KB894391-x86-ENU.exe
WindowsXP-KB896424-x86-ENU.exe
WindowsXP-KB900930-x86-ENU.exe
WindowsXP-KB911567-x86-ENU.exe
WindowsXP-KB912919-x86-ENU.exe
WindowsXP-KB920214-x86-ENU.exe
WindowsXP-KB921398-x86-ENU.exe
WindowsXP-KB922616-x86-ENU.exe
WindowsXP-KB928388-x86-ENU.exe

I would also add security update WindowsXP-KB918439-x86-ENU.exe (as warned by HFNETCHK).

Tried with IE7-KB929969-WindowsXP-x86-enu.exe on its own as it previously states in an HFSLIP log furthur up, made no difference.

Lol hold on... I am taking care of my hotfixes hence this entire topic! I'm rebuilding my HF folder, as I said above I wanted to get IE7 slipstreaming + IE7updates sorted first.
Maybe I should do it the other way round... Sort all the XP hotfixes and then the IE7 Slipstreaming!

Thanks for the heads up tomcat!

This might imply that the delayed file renames are not taking place. Can you ZIP HFSLIP.CMD from SOURCESS\I386\SVCPACK and SVCPACK.INF from SOURCESS\I386?
