Hi, I've just installed Windows XP and haven't activated it yet.
The activation reminder kept coming up and said there is 30
days left. Is there a way to disable the activation reminder?
I'm not asking to avoid the activation, I just wonder if there
is a way to disable the annoying reminder??
Thanks in advance! :)

thats exactly what he is not trying to say
he is asking how to disable the pop-up that says activate it now

leon2003 I had it somewhere I'll try to find it
but why not activate it right now?
I guess you'll re-install xp sooner or something like that
that's what I tend to do when I format over and over again
before I discovered the existence of vmware and virtual pc :)

The only correct answer here is to activate XP and the pop up will stop.

I know there is a program called xpantispy which can disable all the popup balloon tips. I hope that helps.

I'm not asking to crack the Windows XP, I just want to know
if there is a way to stop the activation reminder.
I have a real copy of the Windows XP, I guess I will activate
it soon.

By the way, I've found a software called "Windows Server 2003 Optimize Tool".
It will disable the Windows XP/2003 Activation Reminder. :)
too bored, just test something out.

What's the legality of using the Corporate Edition when you've paid for and bought the retail Professional edition of Windows XP (I got mine for $50 directly from MS)? And beyond the legality, would Microsoft ever do anything about it?

Lol i hate the activation sequence itself and its integration in the system i hate license server service in windows 2000 server too i feel its an overhead protocol just for money which is not acceptable.

ohh i fergot about this.. i recently purchased xp OEM for another pc, which requires activation.. I want to use it in my unattended setup but I was woried about having to activate or rather it activating every time i reinstall (like 5 times a day!) in virtual pc, since the hardware will be different on the pc i finally use it on, but it gives you 14 days, so all is cool :)

Let me remind you that you have 14 days to activate it, so you can activate when you find that you have made the right copy! :)
