halo 2 requires secondary logon (not that your wanting to install it) but other games might require it aswell, try keeping secondary logon and Multimedia Class Scheduler also try checking event log for any problems

Do they give you any error message? I would additionally to what legolash2o mentioned keep Game Explorer. Some games give errors, if it is removed.

If you can't run many games then your problem is not what is removed, it's your drivers or bios setup.

ye i was thinking game explorer, it might just be the game cant support russian, try it on a friends computer to see if it works, if it does then make sure you have the latest drivers and have the latest directx install, even though directx 10 is installed, i still install DirectX9 (sometimes i had too)

it must be a component then, did you try keeping

Secondary Logon
Multimedia Class Scheduler
Game Explorer

some modern games also check what results you got on Windows SAT to see if it can run or not... (im just looking this info up because i remember seeing it one time)

did it work on previous version of vLite if so then it prob be a component on the latest vlite (help find the problem)

When buying software, the software package may include the recommended Windows Experience Index base score a PC should have in order to run the particular software application well. If a PC has a higher base score than the score recommended by the software, the software will run well on it.

Quote

The score actually ties into the whole "Games For Windows" push Microsoft is on. If you look at the games that come with Vista, they have a score associated with them (e.g., Minesweeper needs a rating of 2.0 or higher). Microsoft wants the publishers in the GFW program to stop listing minimum specs and simply list a score on the box. That way, you can tell in a moment if your system will run a given game or not. For example, BikerST has a score of 4.5. A new Age of Empires is released with a rating of 3.5 or higher. He can run that without incident. But if Bethesda came out with a new Oblivion that required a 5.0 or higher, he would need to upgrade some things in his system. There a couple of other requirements for the GFW program as well, but the big push is for publishers to adopt these scores to describe system requirements.

So in theory to play modern games or software you will need Windows SAT aka "Windows Experience Index" to be able to install/use so if it cant find the rating system anywhere on your computer it might cause the application to show an error / crash

I'm playing Overlord on an x64 vLited to the bone and of course it works.

You can remove all and it will run, your problem is somewhere else. Maybe in the new hotfixes or something?

Note:
I kept just Media Class Scheduler, IE (with Microsoft HTML engine) and Aero.

Maybe it's the Microsoft HTML engine but if it works then it could be due to the reinstall alone.

so its not windows SAT, is there a setuperr.log on vista might be useful to check that?

did you check your error logs in event viewer, to see if that says y the games wont work

I told you what I remove and Overlord works, I'm not lying. Only HTML engine is what you remove and I keep.

I'm not saying that it is your cause but that it should have worked. If it works with HTML kept then great.

Btw don't integrate any drivers and don't install any hotfixes while trying this. I still think that the reason is not in the reamovals (unless it's the HTML which I haven't removed).

Ok, I really can't say anything more since I don't believe that it's removals, more like something in parallel.

But on Monday there will be new vLite version, significant upgrade. Then try it if you want and report please.

Regards.
