chris.hogg
Hi all,Recently we have been having an issue with some of our servers where if we leave a remote session open on them (happened via console connection last night also!) that the server either performs very badly or hangs outright!Has anyone ever seen this happening before / know any fix for this? The servers are Windows 2003 EE and remote sessions are using RDP 6.0 (from XP sp2 machines)Thanks in advance Chris

Stoic Joker
Is there a screensaver trying to run in the remote session? How long does the session run properly (if at all) before it starts to lag? When the session is lagging, are the boxes other services also slowed?More detail = better answers.
chris.hogg
Is there a screensaver trying to run in the remote session? Not sure, basically we just disconnect from the session (click the X on mstsc)How long does the session run properly (if at all) before it starts to lag?no one can be totally sureWhen the session is lagging, are the boxes other services also slowed?Yeah, basically the whole server has been known to go down because of this. At one point this included taking down our main database (when we can produce 10Gb of transaction logs in 5 mins, the database being down on us is a serious issue!!)
