I've extracted nero setup file and removed some unwanted files and then again made a .7z archive and made a .exe file as per the instructions in the help file and on http://msfn.org/board. i was able to create it successfully, but the problem is it just installed into the programfiles directory. the structure where it installed is c:\Program Files\Ahead\. It works fine. The problem is how to get the entries in the start menu for the same program as I don't see any entries for the software in the start menu. Kindly, help me.

Everytime I've to go to the C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero and select the nero.exe file to burn a cd. What I want to do is get the link in the start menu. after automatically without user intervention.

Regards,
Dvij

create a shortcut to the nero.exe and then copy it to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs

this will add the shortcut to all users in start menu-> all programs.

You can also read my Guide. This is the new 7z SFX Tutorial, with new information.
Here you're reading about how to make automatic a shortcut with your installer.

This parameters:

Quote

Shortcut="P,{%ProgramFiles%\\Ahead\\nero.exe},{},{},{Nero Burning ROM},{Nero Burning ROM}"

Should work
