Add anti-rootkit prog to Security apps?

Do you guys use an anti-rootkit program along with other security programs like spybot, adaware and anti-virus/firewall? or do you find that these programs detect/remove/prevent root kits?

i dont run an anti rootkit in real time but from time to time i run either sysinternals rootkit revealer or the suprisingly good panda anti-rootkit

AVG also has an Anti-Rootkit available. Personally SysInternals is great for looking "under the hood".

I've not used panda anti rootkit, but i look in to that now

AVG also has an Anti-Rootkit available. Personally SysInternals is great for looking "under the hood".

The AVG anti-rootkit has been folded into their paid anti-virus product, and consequently, any updates to it have been done there..

GMER is still under development as far as I know, as are Trend's Rootkit Buster and F-Secure's Blacklight. The last two are probably the n00b-friendlier choices.

Yes it has, but when I made the post originally it was a free, separate download. Check out the date of the post you quoted.
