Edited at 22.8.2008:

Guide: How To Bulid up ur Server/Vista properly!
[using vlite and waik]

idea of this Guide:
installation of new updates and packages after installation of vista or server creating "checkpoint" if the user wanna uninstall same update he could but this make winsxs bigger and bigger
backup files dll more files will be saved
so this way u could save space and maybe have the os more stable

1. copy ur original disk to hard
2. use vlite to SS sp1 [only if use this on vista sp0 / server have already sp1 so skip that ]
3. use waik to pre-install updates and packages or feathers with perm type [ reinstall sp1 with waik after but now u do the perm type its should clean the old files from sp0]
[example:]
<package action="configure" permanence="permanent">

list of updates to windows server 2008 32/64bit:

Haven't finished that test, but it was at least half of them so you better not even start with it until fixed.

That is a bloody good point aviv00, or at least a good suggestion, since vLite is only in beta, maybe Nuhi has not yet coded this into it, but (and I am no C# coder) I am sure if theres no component there to select, vLite cannot possibly remove things like that (Aero, WMP11).

They are not deleted, it's just while Server is going through other component data it tries to read the removed ones and stops there.
It's just a matter of finding what to clean, gonna do it for the 1.1 final.

The final vLite will probably be made before Server 2008 is even officially released.

Nuhi you do SO much man. Server 2008 isn't even out for months yet and you're talking about vLite final.

hmm...
you don't understand me;)
i would like to see a full list of options i can check to remove in vLite that do not brake the features option so i can add Aero ^_^
what is Yours most lited version of server'08 and with fully working aero?

ps.
that code was just an example that broke the process of creating the vlited version of my server'08 installation
it has nothing to do with my main question ;)
just a bug report;p

CHeeRS!!
