I am reinstalling 98se on a comp so my kids can play some of my old games. I used Gapes USP many times in the past. And it appears that he is working on a new version ! At the present time which would be the best update pack to install ? I am not a tester, I just want something that works right now. Should I just load up usp5.1 and update from there ? Many thanks for any advice !

Well, I guess I will just go with the standard 98se installation for now. I may add one of the service packs later. I am doing a dual boot of win2k and win98se on my kids computer.
Here is the system:
Dfi nf3 Lanparty 250gb
wd 80 gig 8meg buffer
a64 Mobile 3000+ 1mb L2 cache (I will overclock
)
1.5 gigs geil pc3200 ram
Hey, wait I might have to keep this for myself !
Its just a back-up rig, but it will be a good one !

i would say that all of the update packs published around here are good....i personally prefer the autopatcher98 but i also use other update packs and individual hotfixes to keep my old laptop running properly
i say it's more a matter of preferences
