I manage a Windows 2000 Server at work. Due to some hardware failure I had to change over to a server running Windows 2003 temporarily till the windows 2000 server could be repaired. After the repair was done. I had to migrate the files back to the Windows 2000 Server. The migration was completed successfully. The problem i am facing is that the files which were created in the windows 2003 server(which are now placed in the windows 2000 server) cannot be opened by the users. Is there a solution for this problem.
Regards
Vinayak

check the permissions on those files you copied over, they could be your culprit

I'd also have to suggest NTFS/Domain permissions on the files which were created/changed. Check the rights. What exact files/dirs are you talking about?

You may have to go in as admin and re-take ownership of the files. The file owner SID does not exist on the 2000 server. Take ownership then you should be able to grant rights to the appropriate users.
