HOWTO create a fully up to date XP x64 DVD Updated for April, link to similar W2K guide

I started by going to “how to create a fully up to date XP x64 DVD, argh.
I used Sersphs post SP2, IE+addons and his IE Tweaks. no problem integrating but below seraps link at how to create...... there’s the directx redist and i Can’t get that to integrate at all. I’m also not sure if that’s all I have to do in the hotfixes patches area because also below Seraphs link at how to create......there’s a:
Once again there is an archive with the smaller hotfixes at MediaFire, argh. So do I need to do the MediaFire thing now
Not sure what I need to do, I’m thinking I might be bloating it out with all this stuff.
I’m running nLite on my laptop with W7 home Premium. Don’t know if nLite should be installed in programs or X86. Either way it works, I think. I’ll be needing to install Net framework 4 and other programs and I don’t know where I do that in nLite, or if I have to integrate them post some how.

This is what I think goes into nLites Hotfixes Addons and Udate Packs integration
Media Fire\Hotfix_XP-64_A_Nov10\WinXP-64_sp2a\Hotfix
Media Fire\Hotfix_XP-64_B_Nov10\WinXP-64_sp2a\Hotfix
PLUS
5er_IE8_Addon_2009-03_4_x64.7z
IE8-WindowsServer2003.WindowsXP-KB2360131-x64
IE8-WindowsServer2003.WindowsXP-KB976662-x64
IE8-WindowsServer2003.WindowsXP-KB981332-x64
IE8-WindowsServer2003.WindowsXP-KB982664-x64
IE8Tweaks.7z
Kels_CPLBonus_x64_Addon_v2.rar
Or All this goes into nLites: Hotfixes Addons and Udate Packs
integration
5er_UpdatePack_XPx64SP2_2010-MM_V.7z
PLUS
5er_IE8_Addon_2010-MM_V_x64.7z
RunOnce\IE8-WindowsServer2003-x64
RunOnce\IE8-WindowsServer2003.WindowsXP-KB976662-x64
RunOnce\IE8-WindowsServer2003.WindowsXP-KB981332-x64
RunOnce\IE8-WindowsServer2003.WindowsXP-KB982632-x64
RunOnce\IE8-WindowsServer2003.WindowsXP-KB2360131-x64
IE8Tweaks.7z
Kels_CPLBonus_x64_Addon_v2.rar
These have RunOunce & AddOns.
Media Fire\Config_XP-64_26Nov10
Media Fire\Hotfix_XP-64_A_Nov10\WinXP-64_sp2a
This only has RunOunce.
Media Fire\Hotfix_XP-64_B_Nov10\WinXP-64_sp2a
how does this get assembled before I drop the files and folders into
my directory after integration like the picture shows? Where do I put
the applications that you have batch files for? Which RunOunce folder do put
directx_Jun2010_redist.exe?
I see TweakUI in there so is that going to be installed?

% means that you must directly download this file yourself, this is because it either:
. . . A) is simply huge (Service Pack 2, .Net Framework 3.5 sp1 and DirectX redist) or
. . . B} requires validation (Media Player 11) or
. . . C) is an optional component (Internet Explorer 8, .Net Framework 2.0 sp2)
MD5 and SHA-1 checksums are provided for the above mentioned items.
@ means that the file is available in the 7-Zip archives available at MediaFire and as a part of the torent.
# means that in order to save time (honest, it will take forever) and my bandwidth you should directly download this file but it's also in the torent.
▼ is a direct link to the executable
Optional items and groups are described in green (as are their security updates)

Rather than using the original Microsoft hotfixes, you can instead use the update pack maintained by 5eraph over at the RyanVM forums, it includes all of the high priority updates as well as quite a few extras. If using 5eraph's pack the required files are:
At \Misc: Unchanged from above
At \WMP11: Unchanged from above
At \Hotfix:
% . . . 5er_UpdatePack_XPx64SP2_2010-MM_V.7z 5eraph's current XP Pro x64 post SP2 update pack
% . . . 5er_IE8_Addon_2010-MM_V_x64.7z 5eraph's current Internet Explorer 8 AddOn
% . . . IE8Tweaks.7z . 5eraph's easily customisable IE8 tweaks . Readme
At \RunOnce:
% ▼ directx_Jun2010_redist.exe 100,273,008
. . . MD5: 4E41372E8775E8025BE013480B0629B3
. . . SHA-1: 3B90E800086F75FDB129BDB3A5D875E381C89736
The .Net subgroups of your choice
Once again there is an archive with the smaller hotfixes at MediaFire.

Any small (<2MB) but useful optional components will be placed in the \AddOns directory. The batch files will be written to support their installation if \AddOns is copied to the nLite working directory.
TweakUI is a unofficial Microsoft powertoy that acts as a one stop shop for User Interface configuration. This is the (hard to find) x64 version, digitally signed though. As there are no silent install switches, you must include 7-Zip for automated install.

Yes (if you had extracted the archives into the same folder as instructed then they would already be combined)
As you seem to be using 5eraph's packs the folders should contain (some of these files are optional):

On the application front:
- Kel's CPL bonus pack has been updated, but the AddOn doesn't work, you have to use the silent installer (only works with 5eraph's pack)
- Opera has been dropped as their latest installer doesn't work (great for a company that complained to the EU about browser lock-in)
- The installer for the latest 32-bit version of Java gives errors at higher DEP levels, so sticking with 6u22 for now

I think I finally see the light, I only have one other question about the image of the directory after integration. it shows a + mark next to the addons folder indicating one or more folders inside.I was thinking it may be the 7z update. Could you clarify for me please and thank-you very much for your help.

In my case (where that image is captured) there are some folders for drivers that can't be integrated and have to be done by silent install, I cut the commands from the batch files before posting them, the full version being:

John:
This is my bug http://bugs.sun.com/...?bug_id=7007629
not exactly critical, just annoying, as update 23 is NOT a security update, I'm sticking with update 22 for now.
The MOZILLA=1 parameter is old and not really needed anymore, details at http://www.oracle.co...ent-136552.html
According to https://www.mozilla....US/plugincheck/ Java is installed on Chrome in my VM tests.

EDIT: Can you give me one more link? I would like a link to the site where you found the Chrome installer and switches. Thanks.
EDIT: I did my install on VM and got the Java install logs but no error.
EDIT: I have manged to get Chrome to install and use my old settings. There is another stand alone installer (ChromeStandaloneSetup.exe) found here http://www.google.co...ml?standalone=1. The "Set Google Chrome as my default browser" box needs to be unchecked or a 80040909 install error will occur. No switches are needed to install it passively.

Returned Opera to the supported applications list as the silent install switches now work, on the flip side SumatraPDF now requires the v1.2 installer and the v1.3 executable.
Interestingly only one security patch this month is completely new, the rest update previous patches. It would be nice to think there would be another service pack or at least an update rollup, but somehow I'm not holding my breath.
It's also nice to see that the security chasm (calling it a hole doesn't do it justice) created by the autorun/autoplay "feature" is being wound back. It still amazes me that someone high up at Microsoft thought that it was a good idea. Unfortunately as the "feature" is still available on CD/DVD drives it won't stop an international criminal syndicate (Sony) from installing malware on your system.
johnhc: Tip, I don't get a message that you've edited your post, so it would be best if you want a reply that you either do a new post or PM me that you've edited your current one.
I don't really remember where I found it anymore so I'd suggest that you just do a search on "GoogleChromeStandaloneEnterprise.msi"

I have a problem though that I hope you can help me with. I have created an ISO using my original XP x64 Pro OEM disc, nlite to integrate 5eraph's x64 and IE8 update packs and Boogy's slipstreamer and have burned it to a DVD that works perfectly in VMware but throws up errors in Setup when trying to install to a real Hard Drive. In particular when Setup is starting I get (amongst other messages) "File \AMD\ntkrnlmp.exe could not be loaded. The error code is 7. Setup cannot continue. Press any key to exit.". Sometimes setup will get further but end with an error such as "The file ohci1394.sys is corrupted. Press any key to continue". Bizarrely Setup completes successfully if I use the original XP x64 cd or if I use a cd burnt that just includes SP2 integrated into XP x64 Pro.
I have burnt 4 seperate DVD's thinking I might have faulty discs. Same thing - all work fine when in a VM but all have the same problems when trying to install to a real Hard Drive.
Any idea what may be the problem? I have attached a copy of the last session.ini file if it helps.
Kind regards

I'd suggest either the Ultimate Boot CD (multiple DOS utilities) or a Live Linux Distro (chooser) as most of them come with a memory test option these days.

I have run Memtest86+ and no problems there. Have reset BIOS to defaults (as suggested elsewhere) and retried but without success.
5eraph - have looked at my nlite setup and yes High Compression was disabled as was Cab Merging. I don't know if it makes any difference but OEM branding was enabled.
Will try a rebuild with these options reversed and let you know how I get on.
Sorry Last Session.ini wasn't attached. I thought I had managed to upload it but being new to posting to a forum I am probably doing something incredibly dim. Will try again.
