But I'm sure our fellow members who are Opera users will correct me if I've missed any significant new development in this matter.

AFAIK you're right, for Java support, the most recent browsers we can use are Opera 10.10, Firefox 3.5.x and K-meleon 1.6.0 Beta2.

I just found out that Audacity resumed support for Win98/ME starting with v.1.3.12 beta. Previously, 1.3.7 beta was the last version that supported Win98/ME and I was (pleasantly) shocked to find that they resumed support again. This may be the first time I've ever seen this happen. The latest version is 1.3.14 beta.

EDIT: I think it would be nice if we expressed our appreciation to the developers for resuming Win98/ME support as this so rarely happens. I never expected it but was surprised to see that it resumed as I was browsing the Audacity site. BTW I don't know how to update the master list at the beginning of this thread to indicate that development is now ongoing.

Current alpha 1.3.15 has problems using Windows DirectSound as Audio Host. I'm getting an error related to Output Device not found. It does work using MME though. Being an open-source project, I suppose 9x programmers/users can always suggest related fixes to keep compatibility. Thanks for the heads up!

Name: Pop Down
Version: 2.0.1
Size: 16.7KB

Description: Pop-Down is a program designed for Internet Explorer. While enabled, popup windows will never interfere with your web surfing again. Popups are killed before they are created, so you will never see them, nor download any of their content. Pop-Down will notify you each time it kills a popup, so if it kills one you wanted, simply depress the Ctrl key while the popup is being created, and it will not be killed.
Web reference: Web Archive <-> Softonic Site

Personal Note: Personally, while using IE6SP1 accompanied the beloved Pop Down on my floppy :blushing: . Spent time with Firefox 1.5 PenDrive and all change and never went back to IE. Who still use IE6, you will be very useful. (One of my favorite applications when sailing in completely unprotected virus Internet cafes ...) :thumbup

It's unclear whether Audacity 2.0 still works in Win98/ME. They give conflicting information on their website. As I reported earlier, 1.3.14 beta resumed Win98/ME support. Anyone know if this is still the case? I probably will test it out soon and I'll report back on the results.

Always appreciate your heads-ups on software updates, halohalo.

I think it is clear, Audacity 2.0 works in Win98/ME, but you need this ANSI version:

Thanks. It certainly wasn't clear when I browsed their website as they gave contradictory information on different webpages. And I didn't see any mention of the ANSI version.

I don't know if this was mentioned, ...
Here is a good file recovery app.
Works without KerneleX. I tried it only once and worked perfectly as intended where one similar software failed.

Not sure if this is the correct thread to post this, but I am looking for a free photo imaging program that incorporates the option to create an arc shape to the 4 corners of an image, and the option to be able to change the arc colour.

Not sure if I understand exactly what you are asking for,
but did you try FastStone Image Viewer 4.6
(freeware - no install required - fully compatible with Windows 9x)?
It has so much possibilities.

FREE ONGD GOM Player 2.1.40.5106 has been released.
I believe the failed registration bug introduced a few versions ago, has been fixed in this version. Thanks goes to the Gretech team!
